As was the love-fest for Bellamy's 300th win. Totally ignoring of course that he was up to his neck in putting an illegal team together that had 4 years worth of wins before they got caught (about 72 wins).

Not saying he's not a good coach because he definitely is. But for mine its a very tainted record.

I was more 'annoyed' at the forward giving away the penalty.

He wouldn't have known if the player was offside or not and the game was on the line. Also escort penalties have been coming thick and fast all season and yet:

This match highlighted why the Origin period should be shortened to one game.
Illawarra was missing four and Melbourne five of their best players. This tended to even up the contest. But either of these teams could have been playing a team at full strength, which is unfair when it comes to the NRL competition.
We'll see this on Saturday when Newcastle, minus their best four players, take on the Worriers who have no SOO representatives. And again on Sunday when the SOO-less Donkeys play Cronulla who is missing just one SOO representative.
