In terms of acting performances, it was less De Niro in Raging Bull and more Schwarzenegger in Twins — but it almost won Josh Morris an Oscar, and the Roosters the match.

The veteran centre called on all of his experience to draw a penalty from referee Gerard Sutton in the 64th minute of Thursday night’s thrilling grand final rematch against Canberra at the SCG.

and lol @ broncos

Just looked at the tigers v broncos highlights.

It looked like the tigers could do no wrong, especially in the wet weather! But the broncos lacked...anything good really. Intensity, structure, resilience - there was nothing there - and I'm here for it!

Oates - wow, it takes a lot to break a Femur. Tough luck there.

Also when Walters scored his try there was a Bronco player grabbing his arm as walters ran throught and again, I was amazed to hear horsehead say "we have shoulder to shoulder which is ok"

fmd - even Johns said while waiting for the vidiot that "walters is being held back here" - or something to that effect.

Maxwell, like Seibold, has gotta go.

Anyone else notice Lockyer couldn't even name Seibold? Kept referring to him as "the coach" ...

Very sorry for Corey Oates. It looked innocuous when it happened but it's a car crash like impact to break a femur. Poor bloke. At least he got his wish to play second row before his career ended.

Go the mighty Tigers!!! Can't wait for Madge to drink the tears of Seibold's Unfathomable Sadness!!

Can someone please photo shop Seibold's face here????

Yep feel for the poor bloke considering his young age. I know injuries are a part of the game and he wanted to play 2nd row but sometimes your body at a particular age and development isn't made for certain positions. Bennett would feel for him the most as he never put him there and probably had that reason in mind.

Heart breaking for him and for those saying Brad Parker to second row...case in point as to why not

The NRL on field game is rubbish.

The new rules have robbed the game of contests over 80 minutes. It amplifies the gap between the two sides & then results in a blowout & recriminations over player effort and lets sack the coach. Even two even teams can put on a rubbish game if one gets all the momentum early.

If a referee can call out "MIlking it!" he can just as easily penalise the milker!!!! The problem is the officials will reward milking on the basis that all the milking is doing is highlighting the defenders are breaking the rules. In other words, the penalty is justified. All this does is breed more milking.

Whats the point of a salary cap to even out the competition if you have onfield rules that produce one sided games. Just because different teams win every week and the comp table is even does mean there is a great product to watch.

Corey Oates has been cleared of a suspected compound fracture of the femur and could be back on the field within three weeks in a massive boost to the Broncos back-rower and the club.

... and yet the Melbourne V Easts match a couple of rounds ago was the best spectacle in many years. And the Canberra V Easts match was also good to watch.
RL is getting too many rules, complicated by the failed Bunker experiment. However, reverting to one referee has improved the game so it is a better spectacle than the Wrestlemania version we had over the past decade.

And yet on the Fox League website and on his twitter, Brenton Reed was blowing up about the decision being overturned claiming that Rapana clearly ran off his line to keep Morris from getting the ball.

Me thinks he had money on the Chooks winning that game.

Poor guy, it means he will have to play for this Broncos team again.

I can really see Cotric making a massive difference to this Dogs side, sitting out on a wing, twiddling his thumbs whilst the 12 other gimps inside him totter around dropping the ball and missing tackles.

But he’ll be 1.95 million richer doing so!!
