Unless the ball touches the ground in a forward motion it shouldn't be a knock on regardless of WHO it touches in the air.

That’s the way it was when I played , touched the ground , knock on, simples!!!

Provided it was ruled to have gone forward of course. Although these days if the ball hits the ground they seem to call a knock on even if Stevie Wonder could see it went back.
