New Winger - Christian Tuipulotu

Saab has had a good couple of weeks, but all he has really done is finish off plays started by others and catch a Bomb over a much smaller man. Both great winger plays, but there is much more to wing play these days than just that. I’d like to see him do some more tough carries and I still fret with his handling and he doesn’t seem to be much of a defender. But as I said, he is doing some things really well.

Tipoluto will get his chance soon enough and has the makings to be a great player, Time will tell who comes out on top.

Thanks for digging up this old post and attempting to stick it to me though, plenty of that going on around here at the moment, yes we are playing much better but it doesn’t mean the opinions from the first four weeks are invalid, I’m just glad the team and des were able to right the ship
I think Saab had 18 hit ups last week. Definitely needs to do that consistently though. His strength and knowledge of the game will come with time and experience. He is only 20 and doing everything Manlys wingers have struggled to do for years!

He looked so confident yesterday. They hammered him with bombs with the sun in his eyes. He looks like a different player compared to three weeks ago. Amazing the confidence you garner from winning.

Actually, I was not trying to "stick" it to you.

I figured for you to say Tipoluto was a MUCH better player than Saab, I assume you have seen Tipoluto actually play. I have not, hence the question.

If Tipoluto is better than Saab, Manly has a strong future with our wingers.

Strong runner , defence seems O K , some very ordinary attack by Black Town on Sunday as an instance , so not much opportunity to show his undoubted ability . Looks like centre may be the most likely position for him in Manly i st grade in future times .

Since RL started wingers were there to score tries. If coaches expected them to do the work of a prop forward imagine how most of our finest wingers we'd have never seen.
People rose to their feet whenever Irvine or Larry Corowa touched the ball. They would be bashed out of the sport these days.

Well let me tell you...Tipoluto sucks! It is like he isn't even out there on the field. However, Tuipulotu is a real talent ;-)
