Couldn’t agree more. They were all part of an underwhelming culture of failure and choking.

In the patch there that counted while the Eels were getting on top it was Brown I noticed smashing hard at both ends. Mind you, he’s playing for his next contract and perhaps some pride, so full of motivation.

Yeah, as soon as I posted, Brown had 4 or so effort sets.

Still not anywhere near his efforts from last season.

Yeah funny how he always seems to be right on top of the opposition as soon as they play the ball. Rarely gets pinged as offside but always is

We were linked to him 6 months back. Prob about same time Taupau was linked to them. Not at his prime. But...has just played in a gf. Can add aggression. New home would help refresh him.

Great article, great bloke ... but it shouldn't disguise the fact that there is little to no substance to his game.

He never breaks or bends the line on those "off the back fence" runs and seriously, one day his getting smashed is going to result in a Category 1 HIA. And TBH I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet.

His "Big Hits" usually just bounce off and do nothing. And one today led directly to a line break and a Sharks try.

He's all hype and enthusiasm, but little else.

Today showed that against the fast skilful teams, Seibs old slow money ball signings like Brown, Aloiai and Lodge will have long term effects on Manly’s ability to compete in the next 2 years.

These guys cannot maintain their dominant middle week in, week out.

TBH I think we need Lodge more than we do overrated Brown and plodder Aloiai.
