The decision on our next coach is crucial, surely the owners must take into account the toxic environment that was Barrett and Cartwright, there needs to be a coaching staff that is professional and not afraid to make the hard decisions. Weak leadership and coaching has given us what we deserve this year. There needs to be a total review of what they did over the off season and ensure that those mistakes are not repeated!!!

Couldn't agree more.

Cartwright would be a signal of pretty much more of the same and business as usual. Yes, he may well win some more games next year (just about anybody coming in should be able to improve on this season's performance), but I think this club needs much larger fundamental change right through the ranks. Putting Cartwright in without addressing all the supporting off-field cast would largely be cosmetic, IMO.

I can see Cartwright being our coach for the final round because I think Barrett signed his own death warrant by going public on the weekend and will be fired by as early as today, as late as tomorrow. I think he was in breach of contract going public when he did, even if he did it in response to the Penn article.

If someone advised Barrett that it was a good idea to go public, they aren't much of an adviser and more fool Barrett for listening. If he decided to do it all on his own, then to me it shows that he isn't mentally capable of handling a first grade coaching job. At least not as a head coach.

But if anyone thinks that Cartwright should be our long term coach.....you're dreaming.

If I was the one in charge, Maguire would likely be my first choice for 2019. But I wouldn't rule out Henry who I also believe can get this group and whatever group we have in 2019 playing a lot better than Barrett has.

Of course, I would love to see either Tooves or Des back (or both), but while the Penn's own the club that is never going to happen.

Would we be happy with a 12th place finish ? Those are McGuires results from his last 2 campaigns with the Rabbits, who are now running top 4 with the same squad

Not saying I wouldn't take him, but there are some Rose coloured glasses about his recent results. He is probably the best free agent going round though

We want our players to be disciplined, hard heads that aren't mates with the coach.

Manly's full of creative players who could build their attack on a solid defensive base. More than the Rabbids ever had.

Manly are in the top 5 for penalties and points leaked
