Did you do Kitchen Stadium from Iron Chef, that is my fave stadium.
He was engaged to do some work for Joe Kelly when the latter was at Manly.

This was one of his more realistic planning jobs:

Because they’re talking about the MCG as the venue, which lies within that precinct, along of course with AAMI Park.

And remember, digest and process information coherently.
Well maybe they should build another casino next to the MCG to make it really attractive then. They can play tennis and gamble. Better than watching penalty-a-thon rugby.

That rips off the scoreboard at the Bernabeu- the clue is in the Bwin sponsorship.

My 5 year old son could have done better photoshop than that or maybe he did! 😉

Don’t report me for child slave labour it was Sloppy Joe that made me do it!

Attn: Stadium Planner;) - the Bob Fulton Stand seats a little over 3000.
Still not enough seats to upgrade my 3 game true supporter GA membership.

So add another $50m to the price and we are up to $170m.

Because of poor integration planning for Bozo stand this may now cost more. Metricon stadium on GC was $144M and seats 25k.

From Council plans it wasn’t done by one of the big stadium architect firms so unlikely to be flashy or cost efficient.

I couldn’t see the game live today, but watched the highlights. The aerial shots at full capacity were brilliant. Looks so good with the Bozo stand. The stands are a little all over the shop, but I love it. Shows character and respecting our roots. I’m old school and absolutely love the hill. I’ve watched many games from the hill and taken my kids there. We hold 16,000, and we do struggle to maintain that. With all the talk over money for suburban grounds, do we really need it right now? Penrith only holds 22,000. Maybe in 10-20 years as the support grows rebuild it. I would be happy to keep it as it is for the time being. A quintessential classic footy ground. I might be howled down by the progressives, but to me it is just perfect.

Agree etc, the ground looks magnificent in those drone shots. Now clearly closer to the ‘top of the pile’ of suburban grounds than at any other time in recent decades.

However yesterday’s attendance was posted as 17,385 and there were still spaces on the hill.

Plus the space underneath the L-M Stand could have taken a lot more people yesterday.

Couldn’t tell how packed the western concourse was, or get a rough idea on empty seats in the older stands - but I think all up you could still squeeze in 19-20,000+. The capacity of the Bob Fulton is probably greater than the old northern hill.

This should be merged into one of the other threads.

I was there that day against Parra in the 80's??? 28k?? people were hanging on the outside railings going up to the stands. :p It was madness but excellent. Also, remember the North Sydney game at Bear park. Knew it was going to be big, got there at 12 and gates shut. Some guy let me in the side gate with my gf at the time. He didn't want a cent off me. I was trying to jump the fence and he felt sorry for my girl. :p Ended up sitting on the sideline!! Madness. Ian Roberts scored that try in the corner near me. Beautiful days.

I was at that 1986 vs Parra game - 27,655. Yes it was packed. Some forward thinkers near me had requisitioned some plastic milk crates to stand on. That was on Hasbeen Hill.

Ahh yes, the quintessential milk crate. Do they still exist these days?

Problem is that not many of our games are played in full sunshine on a Saturday arvo at 3pm. Not many at all.

If you get a few more standing on the hill, we could probably get another 1,000-1,500 in. Another issue was from where I was on the hill, there were still a few seats left in the Jane Try and KA stands. Obviously season ticket holders not attending and the selfishly not re-selling them back to the club.

Amidst all ‘the end is nigh in the lost dressing rooms harbouring an out of touch coach and disaffected, overpaid players,’ I thought I would share this with you:

Quoting from the article:

“The NSW government will already fund the knock down and rebuild of Bluebet Stadium, which will reportedly cost up to $300m, with $20m also set aside for a new grandstand at Brookvale, which is also being funded by the Northern Beaches Council.”

Inner West Council’s Mayor, Darcy Byrne, said this:

“I am not opposed to other grounds receiving money. What I am angry about is the fact that the government is funding money into Liberal seats. If you’re going to fund grounds, do it fairly, don’t do it on your partisan political interests.”

Funny about that Darcy old son, because here is a Facebook message (one of your numerous bleatings re: Brookvale Oval):

Funny too how in the relentless anti-Brookvale Oval rhetoric, there was never any mention about the ‘Black Hole of Leichhardt,’ aka the subsurface dunnies at the northern end of that ground, closed now for at least a decade.

Whatever faults at Brookvale, it’s not like the toilets (which are quite plentiful) at the ground were not maintained properly.

It’s not as if Inner West Council doesn’t represent some of the wealthiest gentrified suburbs of Sydney, with the financial wherewithal to at least fix up some toilets and replace some perimeter seating.

With Brookvale getting the ful re-surface and new COE and further upgrades (allegedly) to come, will Manly please stop gifting an extra home game to the Broncos? Yes a bit of extra cash for the Penns but it harms Manly's premiership chances.

The odd game to a country area to promote the club and the game is fine, if all clubs do that.

But surely we need to use Brookie as much as possible, starting from now?

You’re preaching to the converted.

Don’t hold your breath.

What’s best for the Sea Eagles and what’s best for the Penns aren’t necessarily one and the same.

we should feel sorry for the tigpies, after all they play all of 3 games at Leichhardt this year!

I hope the recent throwaway line in the SMH about $50m headed Leichhardt’s way is just that. It needs some sort of upgrade, not $50m.

If they want to spend $50m, spend it at Campbelltown and start playing the bulk of their games there.
