Robbo was a beast.Ian Roberts on Gary Coyne 1991 at Brookie.
I think he got him twice that game but one of them was an absolute monster hit.
I remember that one. Was that tall young winger with a silly rats tail from the Warriors...never quite made it. Then Sione Faumuina charged in a tried to push Beaver around, but the replays showed it was just a class tackle...I was at Brookie one day and the great Beaver smashed a poor Warrior player coming out from his own line. The victim ended up in Disney land and all his mates came charging in to seek revenge on Beaver.
I was a bit worried but in reality who was ever going to take a swing at Beaver , I'll bet no one ever did in his career .
Toovey on Meninga , stopping him dead.
Never thought there was that much wrong with that tackle.Hoppa on Galloway 2005
I love Hoppa's reaction: "I'm off? Illegal contact?" gold.Never thought there was that much wrong with that tackle.
Overreaction by the ref and a trial by media.
You thinking this one on Mick Potter ? don't think it is Brookie but a good hit nonethelessRobbo was a beast.
He hit a St George bloke at Brookie one day, absolutely smashing him, and got into trouble for patting him on the back.
He was making a statement.
Some of his hits in origin were beyond belief.
He would be almost horizontal at point of impact.
That's what I was thinking....You thinking this one on Mick Potter ? don't think it is Brookie but a good hit nonetheless
There's a great still photo of this tackle which I can't seem to find on google - but it's Chimp standing over Potter giving him a gobful with dust still coming up from the hit.
That was probably the 2009 game at Olympic Park. Farrar was an excellent defender. Pity we didn't see more of him.Couple that stick in my mind
Parra stadium, 2007 I think it would have been. PJ Marsh breaks through and is a certainly to score, somehow B Stewart comes from behind and stops him 1m out
The next was in Melbourne, maybe 2012 ? We never win down there, we are up most of the game by a small margin, with a minute or so to go Slater breaks through and commentators are calling game over, but Ben Farrar grabs a leg and stops him
I thought it was when Stains played for the Tigers that happened. He was out cold before he hit the ground once Haumono started swingingI remember Dan Stains from the sharks resenting a tackle from Huamono and carrying on with it .
Huamono was trying to walk away but had had enough and began giving it to Stains Big time.
Ridge was one player who joined the fray ( to stop Stains getting killed )
It was at the Fortress - if we are thinking of same match, I was on the 40m line loving itLol yes Forty I remember that.
At Leichhardt.
And sweat stains was a karate expert.
How funny was it...

Yeah that's right. My memory has been shot to pieces and completely shown up with this thread lol...It was at the Fortress - if we are thinking of same match, I was on the 40m line loving it
