Firstly don't agree with changing 1 of the best centres to 5/8....but
Things have changed plenty since then and 1 key I look forward to seeing.....offloads in broken play.
Manly are great at go forward, not fast play the balls...this means Walker did not get ball in general play at a retreating defence and this is still a familiar Manly trait.... and when he played there last time it was a rush defence in his face (as it should be) frustrating him bar 2 sharp tries when he decided Option A - RUN...
Since that time he last played, the ability of Kapow, Jake and AFB, who was not there....to offload in the ruck has been the most constructive attack that Manly have made line breaks with Tom and DCE the beneficiaries. If Walker can get amongst it, there is no doubt he will cause headaches from 2nd phase play.
Probably reaching for a positive from something that obviously did not play out well last time, but see this as an improved area for a ball runner like Walker.
