Just on this kid Croker .... when he broke down again for the 3rd time with an ACL last year .....as a 20 year old he must have been completely devastated ..... at that time the thought of ever playing again ... let alone being offered a contract by Dessie must have seemed just a sad joke ...

But here he is today running on to the hallowed turf of Brookie Oval, in front of a Sunday arvo crowd in first grade ....

Got to love this kids grit, balls and determination ...... if anyone deserves to be called a Manly person ... it is this kid ...

It's a forum mate if you think croker is first grade standard spit it out don't hide behind Des. DCE the skipper was in the paper this morning saying elgey is going great yet Des benches him and promotes croker. I fear Des is going down the bulldogs route when he was coaching getting rid of any creative type players and putting a robot like croker who brings nothing (except make parker look good) confirms my suspicion.

Stage is set for Croker to have a breakout performance. He’ll be operating under a seasoned coach with a clear game plan for the first time, facing off against his old club, and will have plenty to prove. Looks to be a clever move by Dessie.

I don't hide behind anything.
I said at the start of the season that Croker was probably a Des type player and no matter what you or I think Des has selected him so we will see.

Elgey is improving, I agree, but has left a LOT to be desired. Personally , I'd stick with Kane. Let him to continue with the development and chemistry.

But this is all on Des now. Is this a masterstroke, or is it a bad call?

Like I say, lose today, Des record over the past 2 years is no better than Barrett's over his career. I won't say last 2 years, because Barrett's win % would be MUCH better than Hasler , given our 6th overall finish 18 months ago.

Yeah but stats never tell the whole picture, this near wooden spoon side last year has come a long way already under des.
