I honestly feel hollow even though Manly won with a great DCE goal. The NRL is a joke the way teams who lead in the first half suddenly get hammered by the refs in the second half. This game should never have gone to golden point.

agreed the refs were terrible that afb try was a try 100% and that Croker penalty was bs both teams where doing that in the last 5 and hastings got head highed in the half yet?

There was holding down all game in the tackle let go from both teams. Crocker clearly milked that last one. Bloody joke. But winners are grinners. F..k canberra.

DCE is really growing into a leader. He led by his actions today and stepped up to win it.

Agree. That is what we see so much of from Thurston that we have all been wanting to see more of from DCE. If he can continue building on the consistency aspect (which I believe he can), he will be even more special.

Fatigue my a$$. That 2nd half had nothing to do with fatigue. We had an extra player in rotation (2 extras for most of the match). And let's not mention a week off...

Yes but our line-speed was keeping the raiders at bay the opening 60 or so minutes, that started dying out with around 20min to go, presumably due to fatigue. It was another game of the halves. I felt we were far better for 60 or so minutes, two of their tries were basic, "lucky" tries (especially rapana's try where we clocked off due to thinking it was a penalty and Leilua found taufua and our left edge waiting for the call too far infield )

Think it goes to show why Api is picked instead of Hastings defence wise anyway

api is a very good player I knew once he hit papali he wasn't coming back and you could see they started getting us around the ruck. hastings did well but yeah api for me has always been 1st choice. hastings that catch on the try line was brilliant. He was held well before the strip anyway

Walks and Uate were unsighted in the second half as we never had possession.😎

Brilliant win, anyone who complains about us scoring one point in the second half knows nothing about football. The Raiders (the most dangerous Attacking side in the NRL ) had ALL the momentum from the start of the second half, most of the ball. And received a bullsh1t call that overturned a fair, match sealing try to AFB. That win was all heart, and the boys defended their hearts out. DCE won that game with his tactically perfect kicking game. Best win of the year imo, based purely on heart, desire and overcoming adversity. Manly spirit on show for the entire competition today.

I have a question, would Fonua-Blake have been stopped had Taupau not interfered with the player in the lead up to his try?

I'd say no as clay, or whoever it was, was bloody miles off afb + the fact I believe he had dived, anyways better let it go now

I think we stopped playing footy in the second half though. Some negativity from Green in trying to protect the lead was frustrating. It seemed that as soon as Canberra got the first try in the second half, we put the cue in the rack and tried to protect the lead. That's why Canberra got back into it in my opinion.

Jake T was clearly gassed after Origin and we lost Taufua, API and of course no Tom T so a win is a win and we'll take it!

When Tom went down I thought that any wins were a bonus and we've won both games since he went down so we have to be happy regardless of the performance.
