Game Day: Manly v Raiders [Round 12, 2018]

Probably an unpopular comment, but I still think Turbo is making terrible choices with the ball. Doesn't know when to pass, when to run, when to kick.
Obviously has skills but isn't really an instinctive player.
I think you are spot on. It gets glossed over because of his incredible athletic talent.

Turbo's main flaw is being in the defensive line midfield still.

He invites the opposition deep kicks and can't tyrn and chase the ball down .

Don't get why he still does this as it's a regular mistake and Baz must have highlughted this to him by now 😕

Can't see how it was dce fault. The passing coming from poo was horrible. One pass almost went over his head. Trent played well but should of kicked that field goal.

Our defence especially goal line was good. Uate and poo were poor and let the team down. Two points we really should of got.

That wasn’t the frame where he kicked the ball. Wighton was borderline at the time - the pass to Cotric was a metre or two forward though, nothing picked up by the touchie though!
No such thing as a forward pass when outside backs are running and passing, the bs momentum formula applies to every instance that potentially could move the ball forward 10mm in the air.

There's a cpl senior players that would be hard pressed looking Joel Thompson in the eye tonight. He was brilliant tonight, he was into everything. Shame he can't kick field goals.
Can I just mention Perrett. He is a fat f**k, off decent run ups, just lumbered up and was consiquenty belted.

Thought he still had a great game before that mistake at the end. Was always dangerous and loved how he kept taking the line on.

I never really expected us to make the 8 after the fiasco in Gladstone. We seem to be having trouble thinking on and off the field. As long as we don’t get the spoon then I can Deal with it but I think we will be fighting to stay away from it this year. Last week was a little glimpse of hope but the more that things change the more they seem to be staying the same with us this year.

This is a problem I have with Barrett.Would TomT be a better player or improved at a quicker rate with another coach? He continually makes the same errors. When he gets the ball off the halves he runs at an angle, giving no room for the centre or winger.Dont get me wrong,I rate him highly, just worry that he’s not getting “coached” and won’t reach his potential.

Tom is dangerous through the middle when Manly has a good penetration set but runs poor lines cramping the outside backs along with a forced passing game that lacks composure and smarts.

Also lacks the ability to change direction sharply to help straighten his running lines. A few times he is targeted along the defensive try-line due to his inability to stay low enough in tackles.

Really? Made a lot of great tackles. Uate rushing in was poor
Agree with TC. I know Uate is a popular scape goat, and I believe he could have made a better defensive showing in those two first half tries... but I think Suli's work inside him was a bigger contributing factor to what we saw at the end of each move. He also came in too far and early for the Raider's last try, which most people missed.

Due to Walker's ego, we were 2 first graders short tonight :fubar:

He controlled more of the general play than his more expensive half, what more do you want from barely 2 weeks in.

Demand the ball on the 5th. Feels like we ran on the last tackle more than look for the sensible option (repeat sets etc). 2nd week in fair enough but seems we were playing with one half again.

Not to mention too many nonchalant sideways runs when bringing the ball back from a kick into a set defensive line.
