We beat both the eels and the ref last night without Tom AFB Walker . Thats how resilient we were . We won it with the legendary Manly spirit in our souls

Did anyone else think we were hitting them much harder in defence than we have in recent weeks?

I dont know if it was just the onground audio set at a higher volume or not, but it seemed every time we tackled a Parra player you could hear a loud "OOF!!" & we were bending them back - how many times was Gutho ironed out trying to bring the ball out?

That starch in our defence from the kick off is what set the platform for our win IMO, & Paseka was a big part of it.

As they took the field, the face on every Manly player was grim - like they were entering a field of battle. In comparison, it appeared the Eels players were complacent, thinking they only had to show up to win. This was evident on the look of incredulity on Sivo's face when he was manhandled over the sideline early in the game "The ref can't allow this to happen to me, I am the best and most feared winger in the NRL!' After Marty scored that early try, our players relaxed a little and were able to play some good footy.

The Sea Eagles attack has been deficient this year and except for the Bulldogs game, all our wins have been based on grit & determination. We are improving though. We played well for the first 20 minutes against the Knights before fading & losing badly. We played well for the first 40 minutes against the Eels before fading & winning (Thompson's try before the break crucial to the win). Hopefully, we can continue this trend and play well for at least 60 minutes against the Cowboys next week.

All our players aimed up last night. Although Jack was very good defensively, he did little with the ball. I think Haumole could be a better option.

I actually thought he gave us a fair go last night, in the first half at least. Though I suspect someone put a rocket up his ar$e at half time about which side are the current NRL darlings because he seemed to be a bit more one-sided in the second half.

And please, please, do not get me started about The Bunker. To coin a phrase ... don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

It could have been worse on the bunker front. They denied Reg Two-Dads a try (he gave it away anyway that he had lost it) and possibly ruled against our last try. So things panned out ok.

Personally I have lost all confidence in those in The Bunker to do the job. There is nothing wrong with The Bunker itself, nothing wrong with the technology. The problem is the buffoon's manning it and the rules they are governed by such as not being allowed to rule on forward passes.
