- So maybe there should be some bagging of him before each game?!?! Gotta get those wins!

Can someone explain to me how the game clock works? When Parker tackles Sivo the clock was stopped at 17 sec remaining. When the game restarted the clock showed 34 sec!!!!! The Worms last try was scored with 14 sec remaining. So in effect had the original clock remained they’d have run out of time to score! Not one word mentioned by anyone in the media....WTF!!!!

Personally unclear of the incident, but I know time can be added back if there was an infringement/injury/penalty from earlier....but let me add - very suspicious and after the try they were allowed from a blatant strip on Kapow...there are no more surprises.

It will be interesting to see if Annesley deems it necessary to again apologise to Manly for another Vidiot howler.
I'm thinking he's probably over it now, and when it comes to the inevitable Manly cheated video review it's: "Mehhh. It's just Manly. Two apologies a season is more than enough to them."

what time does his usual apology come out? (I should probably know it off by heart at this point in the season)

This is gonna be an unpopular opinion but I don't think Waqa was trying to strip the ball, he was trying to prevent the offload and Marty tried to squeeze it out. I thought it was a strip on the night but not so convinced outside of the heat of the moment, wouldn't be surprised if Annesley backs the bunker on this one.

No he didn’t... he threw out the customary difference of opinion line again.

My gawd GA waffles on.

10 mins so far to say "MRC will look at tackles where body weight is dropped onto the unprotected legs of the ball carrier"

Then spoke about the time where cronulla put the try on the line but no one saw it. (Except for everyone with a tv...assuming the bunker as well)

- souffs tried to pack a scrum in the wrong place when time was almost out. ref got it right as he was telling him where they needed to pack it.

- manly... ref got it right to penalise thompson for breaking early from 'that' scrum.

- manly ... 'that' strip: "The ball just came loose" (b/s) So onus is on the ball carrier but also no stripping is allowed so "people will have to make their own decision" - (wtf....that's what rules and the bunker is supposed to be for)
GA - "I'm not sure"

moving on:

GA - all in all...refs are 'pretty good.' (admits he is being long winded).

- also game must be "aware" of players diving (w/e that means for adjudications)

End

The NRL has seriously lost its way in every sense. Now the onus is taken off the referees and "people will have to make their own decisions?"

The real questions that should have been asked should have been as follows;

What is the criteria in becoming a referee? Does a referee have a duty to be impartial? and be seen as being impartial? or is that just a slogan to make supporters and followers of the game feel good?

Well, if a referee must show that he/she is impartial can the NRL kindly explain how an ex slime player can be in the bunker officiating a game between Manly v Parra?

For it to be a loose carry there must be separation from Marty’s hand or arm which there was not. The fact he took it out of his hand & there was another Eels player with his arms around his legs it’s a strip! Penalty to Manly......see NRL rule attached.

Ha! Filthy cheats. They'll do anything for the worms.. like give them a strip try instead of a penalty to us. Been saying it for years this comp is a joke

Loose carry doesn't require separation, if it did it would just be a lost ball. The way I see it is Marty was trying to do his left handed under arm offload thing and Waqa is trying to prevent it (which he is entitled to do) when he ends up with the ball almost by accident. Watched the replay many times and just how I saw it.

Loose carry was not part of the conversation though and nor should it have been.

The referee sent it upstairs to confirm that Marty "knocks it on" and the bunker adjudicated that he was attempting to offload.
Loose carry is not part of it here, even if it is was a loose carry, then the player still does not have the right to steal it. It was in marty's possession and if Waqa Blake were not there with his hands all over the ball and only the ball, then marty would have still been with the ball.

The rule does not require a "Stripping motion" the rule does not require an offload or anything else. The ref thought it was knocked on, which it wasn't and thus the only other reasonable and rule bound adjudication is that it was taken from his possession illegally

The defender has to be allowed to wrap up the footy. IMO that's all Waqa was trying to do.

Sure he can wrap it up but should be wrapped up in part of the tackle, not pure ball action, if you have hands on the ball only and your bodies seperate what is going to happen?.....the ball is going to be taken away, thats what

How much contact with the ball is a defender allowed to have? Don't believe the are any rules around this. Only rules around stripping, include the word deliberate. On the video evidence you'd have to be a mind reader to tell what his intentions were. I can see the argument for both sides, just don't see it as clear cut.
