Sunday afternoon footy returns to 4 Pines Park this weekend with the Sea Eagles taking on the Dragons in a big Round 15 NRL Telstra Premiership clash.

Think that there was a very likely valid stat mentioned by someone before the Storm game , 8 wins out of 13 remaining fixture games required to make the eight , [ 7 out of 12 then on that prediction then no doubt ] with the Panthers loss now 7 out of 11 required .
Loss against the Dragons , then presumably 7 from 10

Someone with a keener interest in stats than me will probably know the answer to this, but when was the last time we won 8 games out of 13? That's a 61% winning percentage. Again, when was the last time we had a 61% winning percentage? Sure, it's possible. But is it really likely to happen?

When Hasler was coaching the team, all the brilliant strategies from the forum members (some more than others) for each round according to the team they were facing up too, were compiled together and sent via FAX to Hasler's personal facsimile machine. So the story goes...

So it was more enjoyable when Manly was the wealthy club always at the top?

I bet Wests, Norths, Newtown and Souths fans didnt see the fun it back then.

Just saying.

Wasn't as such that we were a wealthy club, we were a successful club that players from other clubs always wanted to come to us, and in a lot of cases even for less money if it gave them the chance for higher honours.
In those days we had a Leagues Club that always backed us to the hilt, and the LC today is only a shadow of what it once was.
Norths were always a wealthy club however struggled to attract players except for a brief period in the mid nineties.

However he will be in a great mood following his well-deserved extension and will take a back step to nobody, bless him. Nevertheless I think we will struggle with metres in the middle.
