I was at that game and could of sworn that Matai and Lyon both didnt start . I thought lyon was a late pullout . Anyway i got up at halftime grabbed the missus and said we're off . Marched down pittwater rd and into the club . Sat down grabbed a beer and you wouldn't believe it , the dogs scored again and i got the double . So downed the schooner fast and headed out of the club along pittwater rd against the grain and into brookvale to cash in my ticket . I ran into Max krillich inside the gate and you wouldnt believe i told him id just got the double and said that Manly played like **** . He had a laugh with me about my half hour round trip journey and off i went . Out onto pittwater rd again and into the club and i drank every bit of that $100 bucks .Manly that night (Rd.1 vs Dogs at Brookvale)

Bench - Matt Parcell, Blake Leary, Darcy Lussick, Siosaia Vave.
The only changes from the originally named side were: Snake was out injured, Turbo moved to fullback with Wiliame coming in on the wing. Feleti Mateo was dropped off the bench for Vave.
Just think about this for a moment. We released Gutho at the end of 2015, but kept Wiliame.
Lloyd Perrett (wearing #22) was on the bench for the Dogs as a late replacement for Danny Fualalo, while 2011 Sea Eagles premiership winners Will Hopoate (fullback) and Tony Williams (2nd row) were also in the Dogs lineup.
We lost 28-6.
That would be a moving feast of dickheads, (just sit back and reflect about that image and then add the greatest 24carrot ,platinum coated , 7th Dan Blackbelt , world champion dickhead .....Greenturd smiling from the middle of that moving feast of dickheads)Seems to have been the players' media day today.
Anyone know who the ****knuckle reporter was on the left of our screen who repeatedly asked questions about watmouth and dce?
Wierdler from ch 9?
Watching the vids one after the other it was painful, especially since two of the players weren't even here during the time.
Whoever it was certainly fits my much publicised thoughts on 'sports journos.'
Surely theres a simpler solution than playing M Wright and Brown at hooker.
Hodkinson hooker - Tom Wright to 5/8. Problem solved. Leave M Wright out of the side altogether. Put 4 forwards on the bench. Brown as a utility if needed.
Good pointIs this a gee up? That cannot possibly be true.
Tom Wright is probably the fastest player in the Manly club and TB wants him at hooker doing 50 tackles - TB cannot be that stupid.
Good point
You don't get the best out of your players when you don't play them in their best positions
I'd have Wright and Brown interchanging. No way they would be able to go the 80 and pull off 40+ tackles by themselves. The fact is that until Fainu can make the squad (or Api is back) we don't have a hooker so putting anyone into a traditional role is going to hurt us. Hopefully Trent sees this and does something outside of the box, otherwise there are two outcomes; we have no go forward or we get torn to shreds through the middle again.
In Regards to DCE . No player can be a class match winning player and become over the hill, over night . DCE still has it and Trent needs to get it out of himIf we can get within 30 points tomorrow I think we will be doing well
Joel Thompson to be best in ground for us
I hope DCE proves everyone wrong tomorrow but sadly is going to another inept performance wrong Him.
But if you look at the positives the good news is, is that 2019 will be just like this except Brown and Uate will be gone and we wont be paying for Myles. After everything has been said this week you forget we have a game to play on Saturday.
Think we will last maybe 15-20 minutes be down 18-8 at half time full time 42-14.
Dragons by whatever they want.
To think we have the rest of this season to look forward to then another boring off season before we start again in 2019.
I hope we see some proactive selections that will reinvigorate the team. We have become too predictable for too long .Interesting interview with Barrett, saying that Fainu may have played as Hastings future contract was "a fair way down the track" and was not at training this week (at around 5 1/2 min mark):

Soward on The Twit today:
If Manly don't pick @JackoHastings this weekend they are ripping off fans that turn up every week. The kid has made mistakes we all have. I wanna see him back on the field playing footy in first grade. Sick of seeing him vanished when his (sic) in your best 17.
