Credit to the Dogs defence they really got up in our faces all day.
Thought Hamole was doing and impersonation of David Fafita today but he wasn't helped by the headless chook plays going on.

Yeah you're right, he did have a couple of mistakes today, but his stats, wow, he'd no doubt be unhappy with his own game

Yep we were a bit rubbish BUT the great thing about this team is that they have patience and just don't give up. You know we're always in it and have our eye on the result!
Immigrants .... we get the job done!! (Hamilton reference - I've had pain killers).
Also, a few have said we looked tired and I wondered if we'd been training extra hard. I heard a commentator say last week that Melbourne looked tired because Bellamy likes to put in the heavy training at this time of year so they're fresher for the finals. I wonder if Dessie has the same philosophy?

You're right, he wasn't at his best. You rated Aloiai as very good, which he was but Tom was better.

The footage didn't look good but it was a legit try, pinning the ball between your hand and your torso is deemed control.

If des is happy with any of our play today he has rocks in his head. That was one of our worst displays all season..if we were playing like we have all season we win by 40 today.

I would counter that with the first 4 rounds. Newcastle game, 1st Canberra game....

we won. it wasn't pretty but the dogs really had a go today. their defence was pretty good on the slide which is why foran started turning tom and others inside.

Agree, and when he swapped hands he had the ball wedged against his body before it hits the ground, vossy going off again, no try, you need to regain control of the ball before it hits the ground he said, which is what he did

I still honestly think we need to look at Parker (Suli or Walker) in his place. His hands, his predictable attack, his getting smashed every tackle, now his defense is slipping.

if its not broke dont fix it. walker hasn't played 3/4 in years. suli can attack but if you think parkers defence is a reason to drop then you cant drop a much worse defender can you?

We had quite a few tired players out there today. It looks like Harper needs a rest and so does Croker. Obviously Paseka and Keppie need to play some serious minutes as well, Paseka as starting prop and Keppie in the prop rotation off the bench. I think Des needs to go with Lawton next week as an 80 minute hooker. Suli should also play a whole game as right centre. Starting props are Taupau and Paseka. Sironen drops out. Bench is Walker, Aloiai, Keppie, Sipley. Taupau does 25 minutes, and then depending on the situation sits out the rest of the game. Thoughts?

Harper looks like he’s been carrying a shoulder injury for a few weeks and needs a rest.

Tom was good - he just wasn't his usual high powered fine tuned performance. His timing was a bit off with his passes and he did make those errors. Watching it live - not sure if he was struggling with the heat but he was sucking the big ones in quite a few times.

I agree with you we won and defence was OK and I am happy with the win , the point I was trying to make des knows how we played today won't cut it in finals game.

Yes dogs had a go and there Defence was good but at times we made them look good.

Don't get me wrong so happy with the win.

The dogs did very well to defend his normal point scoring avenues, the fact he scored three tries under the circumstances shows just how good he is.

Our attack looked pretty poor most of the game. There must be better attacking options than failing 40/20s

We were over the line 4 times for no points

we still won by 18

we were flat in attack but did not utilise our normal order of set plays

we tried some different trick shots from positions on the field we worked towards

I think Des had a subdued game plan and gave individual and team instructions that set the scene for some if our play today

Not suggesting tanking but it was like we did not attempt some of the Extended plays to the left as much as normal and injected shoe more instead

I think Des has it under control and will be interested in next weeks selections to get us prepared for the finals

possible rest for HARPER Croker and play bench long minutes as suggested previously

I am more confident today of a final charge with the form of Foz and DCE and an array of strike outside them that gives us a strong confidence builder against the cowboys next week

I thought Manly finally in a sunny arvo game would be phenomenal with the ball. But today was the hottest temperature game the team has had since the start of the season & is in QLD. The 1st vs 4th semi is probably Sunday afternoon at Suncorp. Hopefully Storm melt.

Of course it was a try. You're allowed to move the ball across your chest from one hand to the other but those fuksticks Voss and Anasta were bleeting like reemed sheep about it. Most patheticly biased commentating I've heard all year.

More likely to be Fri night going on past seasons but who knows. Usually an elimination game is Sunday arvo
