people still going off about turbos tackle on twitter and foxsports, not even close to a shoulder, both arms are wrapped. I think in the grainy footage the white triangle on the sides of the manly jersey make it look like his arm is tucked when it is completely outstretched

From speaking to mates, it was channel 9 banging on about a shoulder charge.

I watched it on Kayo & there was no mention of a shoulder charge & I would never have thought of it until one of my mates who'd watched it on 9 mentioned it.

There was a moment on Ch 9 [edit: foxsports] where the broncs did a forward pass from dummy half, play was stopped and Warren Smith (is it) was going on and on how Manly left the line too fast and so they were offside - just completely getting the refs call wrong.

I think Roach helped him out by talking about the scrum, but it was...er funny to hear such accurate commentating from him.

Didn't mention a thing when he found out he was wrong (though that goes on in here as well.. lol)

Was going to write something last night but had to get some sleep before an exam this morning!

Super frustrating start to the game letting them put 18 on us. Have noticed the past couple of weeks it’s as if we don’t realise it’s the last tackle because it ends up in the hands of a forward. Obviously sometimes it’s better tactically to just run it up, but this isn’t looking strategic at all. Not sure who’s to blame whether it’s Levi not passing to Chez or Walkz, or if neither of them are in the right position, but I just hope that changes ASAP.

But gotta give the boys credit for their fighting attitude. Even at 18-0 down I was saying how we never back down, and sure enough we didn’t. I think the short turn around has a lot to do with the sloppy performance, especially after hearing that we only trained once all week because we were so sore. Sucks even more to get a couple of injuries, but fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

Regardless of the score last night, it was so awesome being there. The protocols were heaps strict but that’s so understandable. Haven’t watched the replay yet but people have said you couldn’t hear us chanting on the TV because of the superimposed fake crowd noises which sucks! Even though we could only wave to Manly fans in other boxes from afar, it was so awesome being together again. Really nice of the boys to come over and clap us after too.

So excited for the next lot of people to be chosen at our next home game, and then hopefully we’ll be heading towards full capacity again! Really grateful for Manly to have given my family the opportunity to experience being the some of first fans back watching the game live

It's always interesting to re-watch a game sans emotion. Things can look very different.

Also, while we correctly lauded the crash tackle Turbo and Parker did on Staggs to knock him over the sideline with 1 minute to go, I believe DCE did just as important a play with 2 minutes to go where he knocked the ball down. He unsuccessfully challenged the knock on (to get a breather) but if Milford gets that pass through, there's two unmarked Broncos only a few metres from the sideline.

100%. Without DCE's knock on and subsequent challenge, Turbo and Scorpio wouldn't have needed to tackle Coates because the game would have been over already. As you said, if DCE didn't get a hand to that then its odds on that they would have scored and given the time (78th minute) it would have won them the game.

It was only Ch.9 and Broncos fans/players who have been claiming a shoulder charge. None of the Fox commentators thought it was anything but a good try saving tackle. And the picture that @Dan posted proves exactly that.

Makes me wonder if any of the Ch.9 crew had been calling SportsBet at half time and putting money on Brisbane to win.....

I've read a lot of people blaming DCE for that play where Jake kicked. But in all reality, who the ball goes to on the last is down to the dummy half. Cherry may have called for the ball, but for whatever reason Levi passed it to Jake who in the end had no option but to either take the tackle and cause a handover or kick and hope for the best.

If one of our players had got to the ball and scored instead of it going dead ... Jake would have looked like a genius. Remember the 2011 Grand Final and Gifty's kick in our own quarter? We ended up going 80 metres to score and Gifty looked like that genius. If it hadn't come off he might have looked like a complete idiot.

For mine that whole play was more that Levi passed it to the wrong player than it was DCE's fault and another poor 5th tackle option from him.
