Manly playing in CQ

Instead of clubs from other regions playing in various parts of Qld. How about we just give them a side of their own and eat into the TPA monopolies that the Boys and Donkeys currently enjoy. Now that’s a thought, is it not? I mean for fcuk sake there’s a successful team in Canada. No offence @globaleagle.

None taken!

Next season will be the real test for the wolfpack as they will have moved up a division and will be playing against other professionals....not teams made up mostly of amateurs.

Hopefully Manly can get a few new fans from Gladstone unless Queenslanders really cant see past their xxxx cans and cousins; then I'd suggest a game in...*thinks of a random city* Vancouver, Canada!

I think @marga is from Emerald and she flies down for a lot of Manly games. Now Manly repay the favour 😀

Truly a bizarre Greenturd scheduling fiasco. They would be Cows or Broncs supporters up there, if anything. 🙄

Still cyclone season in April too 😱

Currently it's flooded 😕
Gladstone Regional Council deputy mayor Chris Trevor said forced evacuations had not taken place but some people had chosen to leave their homes.

With 250-500mm falling in the region over the previous 48 hours to Wednesday afternoon, the BoM has put out a major flood warning for the Kolan River and Baffle Creek with waters to peak late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.

Can someone enlighten me on Gladstone?

What type of stadium do they have?
Anything exciting to do there or close by?

Went there once on our way to Heron island.

Was a fairly quiet town with a small strip of restaurants and it seems a large number of FIFO people coming through.

Stayed overnight at serviced apartments that were very nice at a good price - suspect these will book up very quickly.

It dumped too much snow today for people to be reading. Cars stuck all over the roads and a heap of trees falling.

The deciduous trees still have most of their leaves and all the snow was just too heavy for them. some took out the power and we're about the only'section' around with power.

Trees on roads closing roads and even on Terra's walk there was about 8 trees down.

chaos I tells ya...chaos!!!!

*back to normal programming*

All the fish in the harbour are dying from mining run off. It's disgusting.

Expect the ground to a rock hard dust bowl
At present the place is flooded - but the whole area is a environmental disaster caused by uncontrolled mining 😡

Hard to fathom why the FIFO blokes would pay to watch the Titans up there

Cairns is the third Qld Regional game option - Manly got screwed with a mining town full of drunks and silt :banghead:

There’s a really good stadium up there as well, and cheaper for you guys to fly SYD/CNS than have to go via BNE to GLD.

But remember it’s the Titans pick so don’t blame the #birdgang for this one

I didn't realise it was Titans home game, I guess they realise Manly fans outnumber them at Robina so they are trying something different, good luck. Manly wouldn't be unpopular up there either.
(Only tits player I would like is Ryan James, good player.)

Whats FIFO?

I have no problem with games being sent to country or non NRL districts. Its what the League needs to do more and more to increase interest in the game. Since SuperLeague, there has been little interest in country and other locations and the game has diminished. Personally I think all teams should have 2 home games played in country or other locations
