Luke Lewis Hypocrite

You gotta be prepared to fight if you are going to sledge someone all game.It saddens me how much political correctness has overtaken this last decade.
Maybe we should also take tackling out of the game altogether, also ban sledging because we are guaranteed some pussy is going to have some feelings hurt soon.

Lewis is a twat of the highest order! He played / plays with 2 of the biggest grubs in Ennis & Gallen yet he gets into Walker. What an idiot.....kinda think he's maybe had a few too many hits to the head! Can't wait for the Manly v Sharks game!! But hey Lewis will probably be out feigning injury.....

I was shocked by Lewis' response and lost a lot of respect for a player I held in high esteem previously. What happened to Dylan Walker was physical assault and a "king hit" because punching is no longer allowed in the NRL. I'd like to see a charity boxing match held between the Dylan and Scott (post season) when Dylan recovers, but I suspect Scott would be too frightened of getting hurt. It appears that he prefers punching somebody when they least expect it. Oh I'm sorry ... he has an excuse according to Luke Lewis. He was being teased!

They're big boys - if you let someone mouthing off get to you, it shows immaturity. You get revenge on a smartarse by belting them fairly in a tackle. Snapping and punching someone deserves a stronger penalty than 2 weeks.
100%

Duhhh me get angry and me too dumb to process feelings so me punch you duhhh neanderthal garbage.

If these players think they are so tough they should follow Gallens lead and book actual fights against overweight, hopeless amateurs where they will at least have a ref who is there to protect them from ever getting hurt too badly...

Lewis is a moron of the highest order. His statement begins by saying that he doesn't condone violence yet Dylan Walker deserved to be bashed. Panel bought into his crap and suggest that referees should start policing the niggling and any taunting. The game would turn into a lovefest ..p

I know there's a few people that don't like the Dylan Walker type of antics. Personally some things may go too far but it's always been part of the game. I'm sure Walker will also learn from this and hopefully curb this type of play because at the end of the day he and our team came off second best and put our season in jeopardy as a result.

Now going back to Lewis' comments, whilst I also don't condone violence he deserves an uppercut.:punch:

I guess Walkz will be targeting Lewis next time they play!

S'funny, I thought at least one Manly fan on twitter would've tweeted to Lewis some of the comments above. - wusses

Walkz should have been ready to duck after the first punch missed. Ennis was always ready to take evasive action!

The first punch didn't miss, got him a good shot on the chin that despite being a good shot did little damage. It was the second punch that was the problem.

You're right though.....he should have ducked after the first because a second was always coming.

Pfffft, if a punch doesn't knock 'em out, it's considered a miss.

At least that's how it goez down here on the streetz!

Lewis, you are an A grade idiot!! It was far from a one on one fight and Scott got off lightly, the piss weak NRL judiciary has now ensured that the round 18 game is going to be just as spiteful.

It is a bit rich for Lewis to say that Dylan should have been sent off if you also mean that your old teammate Ennis would be banned for most of the season.

You gotta be prepared to fight if you are going to sledge someone all game.

As much as he's now out for about a month with a fractured eye socket, under the games current laws Walks did the right thing not punching back in retaliation.

Lets say for a moment that Walks did still get punched but didn't get injured and was fit and available for selection. Would you still have preferred him to punch back and possibly cop a suspension like Api did?

Though I will say that I applaud Api for standing up for his team mate. Sounds hypocritical I know, but that's humanity in a nutshell. We're a contradiction.

We have been lectured by Greenturd about hashtag talk up the game, Lewis's unfortunate comments are hardly doing that and really he should be sanctioned for justifying the punch that Dylan suffered.

Greenturd and his lot have set out their stall about punching and the fact is today's game is dominated by prima donnas who are doing their best to niggle and incite trouble and they know that they are immune from retribution until last Saturday night.

The way you see players clapping opponents errors, diving, and general milking to win penalties and now you see players using the ten minutes in the bin signal to referees to try and get an opponent into trouble. The so-called role models in the game like Scam Smith have for years shown contempt for refs and now we see this pattern of players doing pretty much as they please and that is not on.

We have many problems in the game that could be solved by common sense, Shutting up Lewis would be a good start!!

Whether he "deserved it" or not is immaterial - you just can't do it. And the idea that Scott didn't throw a "dog shot" because they were standing face to face is absolute bull****. Walker wasn't expecting to be hit, had no opportunity to defend himself, and was then hit again with a punch that fractured his eye socket. The talking head tough guys all say Api's punch was "worse". Again, bull****. He hit Scott to stop him hitting Walker. If Scott didn't snap and start throwing haymakers, none of it would have happened.

Totally agree with that

What Lewis said was true. If the shoe was on the other foot we'd be applauding Kell for snotting Josh Reynolds after 60 minutes of trash talk.

That's the sad thing about the no punch rule, it just allows sledgers to ply their trade with no fear of retribution. It's not great that Dylan got a busted eye socket, but he was in Scott's face all game up to the point where he said "hit me", so why should he be surprised when he did. I think Dylan accepts that is the risk going by his "talk $hit, get hit" instagram post.

I don't want to see a game where constant trash talk is an acceptable standard of play, it's rubbish - I can go and watch Warner play cricket if I want to see that crap.

Something I need to tell you, best you sit down first.

You cannot see Warner sledge, he has been suspended for playing with his nuts or something like that.

Yup.

How much trash talking has occurred in the NBA and how many king hits are there?

If we still trained with Gracie Barra at Brookie someone could have got him in a heel lock and broken his ankle. Then we’d be square.

Short memories people.

Manly Vs Souths Round 22 2015.

If I get a chance I will find the thread.

When Dally Messenger played the first game of Rugby League back in 1908 he wouldn't been on the field for more than 2 minutes before someone would have called him a mercenary poof (I know you can't say that anymore ... but this was 1908) .....

and in every game of Rugby League since then blokes have been giving it to the opposition deluxe ...... DCE even smiled and said Walker wasn't the only one out there .....

It is a matter of degrees .... some sledgers are funny .... some are tactical ..... Dylan feeds off the conflict and just happens to be an in your face sledger ......

He achieved a result ... he upset his opponent .... he got snotted ..... the rules and punishments were applied ....

Move on ... nothing to see here .....
