When Dally Messenger played the first game of Rugby League back in 1908 he wouldn't been on the field for more than 2 minutes before someone would have called him a mercenary poof (I know you can't say that anymore ... but this was 1908) .....

and in every game of Rugby League since then blokes have been giving it to the opposition deluxe ...... DCE even smiled and said Walker wasn't the only one out there .....

The media loves nothing more than to put crap on DCE and his replies are making me appreciate the guy even more nowadays. I would like to ask Lewis the fckwit . Since the no punch rule came out How many players had lost their composure and turned a league game into a boxing match ?
The answer is only one fckwit like Lewis and that was the Melbourne moron that he defended . The only moral of the Lewis quote is that fckwits stick together .
If I was a coach I would get my players to whisper sweet talk in this Melbourne cnts ear every time he got legally and heavily tackled and expose his lack of self control that would affect his play and his team because it is clear the cnt lacks discipline and self control
There is a maximum 10 years jail for a coward punch and this Melbourne cnt who lashes out like a dog with distemper gets protected by the NRL by getting only 2 weeks suspension .

I am pissed off today because we lost Walker for 6 weeks and make no apologize for the way I feel about this thread .
@maxta , Does the self defence rule apply in the NRL where one can use reasonable force against players like the Melbourne moron who lash out uncontrollably with punches . An example of a reasonable force would be to duck under a punch and put your fist in their abdominal region to stop them and bring them down in their knees gasping for air in a fetal position .

Luke Lewis can say what he wants that is his right but he is a footy player and we pay to watch them run around a field with a ball for our amusement, they need panelists to fill the void on the show and the gene pool for these spots isn’t enormous so If I watch I take it with a grain of salt.

Can’t recall exactly where I first heard this but I’m pretty sure Bob Fulton was known for verbally baiting opponents, especially when he was a youngster first coming through. He’d put them off their game and was good enough to take advantage.

Correct but it begs the question of why does the league media have to be such an old boys club to begin with? I get guys like Brandy getting a gig because he is great at it, but way too many of the others are terrible. They have garbage takes and are usually biased towards their old teams. This is twice as bad for current players that are involved in calls for other teams games. Why are Cronk or Reynolds involved in commentating on games while still playing? They both offer absolutely nothing to the call. It just reeks of amateurism.

Then again, the alternative is more air time for the Rothfields etc so either Australia has a very shallow pool of talent when it comes to league media or they just don't care...
