Luke Brooks - the plate is hot

Seeing a bit of brooks bagging in other threads ... for mine, Brooksie is becoming one of my favourite players.

The way he has been throwing his body at runners in defence has been exceptional. Bloke is having real dig.

attacking opportunities have been scarce lately, without a lot of attacking field position and forward momentum .. all 5/8's are pretty much non events quartered in your own half.
Yep, no complaints here. Quality player we seemingly picked up at good value, given how the market is now.

Yep the guy has been as advertised - a good but not great half at a reasonable salary.

Does anyone take into account someone's salary, and performance relative to it, when they bag the sh&t out of them?

If Brooks was on a million I would say he has been disappointing, but at 600k he has delivered on that salary slot.

Laua for the Tigers comes to mind ... been largely ineffective ...

I'd give him a 7 out of 10 for his performance since joining. His defence is stronger than I realised but he certainly hasn't set the attack alight.
I think the only game he played 7/10 was over in Vegas. Since then his standards have been declining imo. In saying that it’s not like we didn’t know who we were buying and I’ll continue to believe that a 250 gamer for $500k is good value. If Walsh steps up I’d personally move him on and invest the cash into our development. I know Siebold keeps calling us a top 4 team but in reality we haven’t finished 4th since Tom had a reliable hamstring. I’d like to see us cultivate and develop our youth who bleed maroon and white and focus on creating the real “many way”.

Brookes...should have taken the team by the neck and lead since hearing the D$E betrayal. it shows he has no game managment atributes

A decade of failure as a game manager at the Tigers didn't already give you that tip.?

We didn't sign him to be a game manager.....because he fkn isn't one.

And he has been more than adequate for the role we did sign him for.

Too much to expect for this bloke to step up with our main half out? I guess the excuse will be that he’s only on 700k so we’re getting good value for what we’re paying. Well in a hotly contested pool of **** players he might have been the worst tonight. At least he gave us some semi decent performances on our way to a 2nd round exit last year

The commentators said he hasn’t had a try assist since round 5.
