Time for Brooks to step up.

He had a year to see where he fits, time to capitalise on his obvious talent and forget the head-****ery the tigers consigned him to for year upon year.

Bateman Koula Garrick or Burbo Turbo Saab (he could bamboozle edges bringing Turbo back inside) time to work on an upgrade or he will be a six hundred to housing dollar half in three years.

Manly got him cheap so he either decides that's what he is worth or makes himself the best 600k half in the comp.

The Barbie plate is smoking Luke.

Waiting for the mods to move this to whichever pat on the back fest not particularly funny pun sub title where the analy retentive like things housed.

Please stop with all the cleaning up and throwing things into other threads because a select few who have no life think it's cleaner or more organised.

It absolutely isn't. It's a boys club of sycophantic forced puns that only the teachers pets (aka mods😛 - I know you do a great job I'm thankful but here's some traffic!) think is organisational improvement and alienates new perusers or even members who don't know what was said fifteen pages back in 'the Keiran forum' (world class pun-ishment).

The desire to see posts total ridiculous page numbers is not beneficial to the site or engagement with it and has become some bizarre symbol of success by more and more complicit and subservient mods.

Hit rainbow if you agree.

Notice the lack of rainbows. Most of us actually prefer being able to read the front page of the forum without it being full of off-topic spam.

Okay happy to be proven wrong, I just don't like going to a fan forum, looking to see if a rumour, or breaking news about a player has been covered by a Silver tails supporter only to be confronted by the same eight forums that have been sitting on the front page for twenty months and then have to sift through all the crap that isn't relevant or pertinent that is loosely related to a weak arse pun someone came up with in 2022.

I'm sure you all use the self serve at Coles too.

It is the off season so there not much new to discuss to be honest , and don’t worry it’ll get worse.

Hey mate, I thought he started off on fire last season, had a bit of a lull, but came back towards the end. I agree he needs to play well next year, but what are your thought's in general of his performances last season?

Brooks and Talau were VERY much a pleasant surprise ! We also had the 5th most potent attack in the entire league. I actually think 1-7 (then depth) is top 2-3 in the entire NRL mate.

Hooker & forwards need the focus imo

I thought much like you. The Canberra game where they made him run the show in response to the insipid performance (from the whole team) against the bunnies showed the club knows what needs to happen but I think we all realise he has scars from the tigers.

He's just going to get a bit of heat on him if Wayne gets the Shu to fit.😂 See what I did there!!!

He had a chance to do that against Souths and he looked like he was playing for Wests again.

Time will tell.

Made up for it though I reckon mate. Plus, I felt the whole team laid an egg that night.

As everyone knows, I love(d) Schuster - and think he could be ANYTHING. We'll regret this one I feel. I just don't understand how we didn't have the satisfactory support staff to work with him. A FIT Schuster would be MUCH better than any player who may attempt to wear our 12 jersey presently (Burbo, Tevaga etc). I do however think Lawton excelled in that position, given his speed and ball playing. How we've regressed from that to Tevaga is beyond me.

I'd LOVE to acquire a player in demand. A player that meets a need. A player that has the ability to improve. Build some chemistry over a few years.

I don't get our current strategy, and it's left me with very little hope.

To be honest I just don’t think that leopard will change his spots.

His biggest issue was he was as lazy as anything.

I’d suggest the club threw everything but the kitchen sink at him , to no avail.

Huge money , huge disappointment.

You may be proved right , but I’ll stick to the fact that I think we dodged a bullet.

Schuster needed a change of scenery. I hope he bounces back and kills it but it won't be one for Manly to regret as it wouldn't happen here.

Brooks will never be the guy to lead the team but is a very capable no2. Personslly I think whilst we may see a slight uptick in form he isn't going to suddenly breakout.

What we see is what we get.

I don't see Brooks as the problem. As @Ryan said, he had a bit of a dip mid-season but wasn't bad rather just average. We all know where we need to improve - hooker, left edge forward and sort out the three quarter line (we already have the players for this) I don't care how old the players are so long as they perform and are fit. Schuster is still a young bloke but will never be consistently fit, he's too lazy in the body as well as the mind.

Yep Brooks is a 600k player and probably played to that standard.

Others with a "hotter plate" are

Turbo and Jake and amongst a few others.

Overall he had a fairly good season, it was patchy at times and there were moments of individual brilliance that try from the scrum to DCE at the back end of the year was very impressive.

The left edge backrow position didn’t assist him in building consistent combinations with Ben T, Waddell, Lawton and Bully all playing games in that position. I would like to see how he would go with Guaca or a hard nosed backrower on that edge.

The combination in getting Koula into space didn’t happen throughout the year, neither Brooks or Turbo couldn’t create that space.

A pass mark for me and hoping he stays consistent in 2025 as he is on decent coin, 700K a season.
