Luke Brooks - the plate is hot

Brooksy seems to reflect the sides overall form trend the past couple of seasons and this season so far in particular , very inconsistent and quite a gap between best and very ordinary overall form level
Really disappointing unfortunately, this season to date for sure .
Also had the impression for some time now that Lehi could go quite well as a 6 but can not see it happening in the short term and hopefully Brooksy can hit his straps again on a more regular basis
Large is an interesting prospect , looks to have some serious attacking ability so that is not a bad start .
Think , like Walsh is signed until 27 but with the present guidelines will be open to offers Nov 2026 So if both look to be just about up to it or ready into next season , going to have to be some quite proactive re signing approach by Manly to keep them both ongoing

I think the club should waste no time in shopping Brooks around. His signing was clearly dependent on DCE staying. That is now off the table and there's really no point having Brooks/Fogarty both in the halves when rebuilding should now be the focus. Bring in both Walsh/Large , with one being in the halves and other on the bench and have them rotate to partner Fogarty. I'd rather lose a bulk of games with these youngsters than have Brooks around just to win a few games here and there.

Good points , i do like Brooksy and his individual attacking ability and how he has stepped up previously in many of his Manly games defensively but again , seems down on many metrics for a good part of this season

Brooksy would do well if he went to Parra to partner Moses. He can play second fiddle like he did to DCE. I dont think Brooksy would want to be the no1 option like he was at the Tigers at Manly. A Brooks/Fogarty combo makes us look like the Titans.

I cant believe we signed him for 4 years...
2-3 yrs would of been optimal. I think we need to look at moving brooks on if we can. I can't see fog and brooks working in my opinion
I cant believe that we signed him at all
The Seibold , Brooks /Fog / Frog combination will not cultivate into anything Great

What does Bozo the clown know you say ?
He has the Manly experience of seeing what it takes to win Manly Grand finals

I think it's dangerous to have a completely new halves combination. It'll help Fogarty to settle in better if he is not helping a rookie try and learn the trade, while he himself gets used to the Manly systems.

Maybe 2027 is a good time to hand the reigns over to a young star.

As for Brooks, I'm underwhelmed with the number of errors he makes. I think he does some great things and but they're always balanced out with a smattering of errors. However, he's still a guy that can control an edge and take pressure of his 7.

Wow, how things can change.
Brooksie had his best game by far for the club v Broncs, only to come crashing down in flames the next game.

Helping the youngster's come through should be the priority. Fogarty is 30, he isnt here for the long term. How is it dangerous to have a new halves combo...we arent going to win a premiership any time soon.

Just my opinion. I don't see a premiership as a thing you just suddenly win. It's something you build towards. I think a better building strategy is to allow the new halfback to settle into the club with another experienced half. Then, when Fogarty is settled, he has more capacity to lend support to someone else, which helps the likes of Large and Walsh. The alternative is, they come in and both halves struggle to settle, confidence is crushed and we languish at the bottom of the ladder. Not saying it's a fact, just a concern I personally have.
