Seems ridiculous considering that their previous breach had 4 points suspended. So basically, moral of the story is cheat once, get off easy, cheat twice, get a slap on the wrist, cheat three times and then maybe they will come after you.

Seven News is reporting that the NRL has finished their investigation into Parramatta’s salary cap breaches.

The final two witnesses were interviewed on Monday with lawyer and sports administrator, Nick Weeks to compile his report and file it to Todd Greenberg before an announcement is made.

Seven News claims the Eels will be stripped of eight points.

I think someone needs to organise an online petition if the squeels get away with a lousy 8 point penalty, let those grubs at the nrl know just what the punters think of this 'level' playing field that they've created. I don't give a rats about the battle to win the west, why the hell does everyone have to play under a different system just to promote the game in western Sydney, if these bastards ran the game with a level of competence it would never have come to this imo.

As for the rumoured 8 points......*^%^&E%#*)*^^&$(*$^$ (Note: See the book "Asterix and the Goths" for translation). This has been a complete joke from the start. Its as plain as day that the NRL is trying to do everything they can to lighten any punishment and it shows clear favouritism from the league towards certain clubs.

If it was Manly who had been rorting the salary cap like that we'd have the whole damn library thrown at us let alone just the book.

If they are only going to lose 8 points (as opposed to the zero points they should be playing for), I don't want Manly finishing 8th this year if the Speels don't make the top 8. I want us finishing at least 7th so we can say that we didn't make the finals simply because the NRL took 8 points off of Parra-doesn't-matta.

I want us there under our own terms and not have to rely on others falling over (or being tripped) to do it.

If they do lose 8 points and do miss the finals as a result, I'd hate to be the team who does finish in 8th spot at the end of the minor round.....
