Let's face it, the longer this goes on the more it means nothing will happen, especially when the NRL is hoping for a Donkey's v Doesntmatta GF.

And yes if I was a fan of the other clubs that have had points / Grand Finals stripped I'd be more than pissed off.

Well the main benefit they got from cheating was their ability to plunder our stocks by offering ridiculous overs (ie. W Hopoate, Watmough, Foran, Gutherson, Gower, HASSON etc.), so Manly fans have every right to be majorly pissed off too.

Don't point that out to Todd though - that'd be more likely to make him decide to let them off.

That's the only reasonable result. Systematically trying to cheat then deceiving the governing body when being investigated.......Why don't they just tell the NRL to bugger off. They're going to do whatever they want.

As I've already said. If they're not punished in a big way, then the NRL will lose any last skerrick of credibility they may have left.

Hadley is an ass but an ass I assume to have pretty good sources.
So I smiled when I saw this.
Eels will either be hammered ... or else given a merit award for highlighting some inconsistencies in the current TPA scheme.

Think about it, the most massive news would be if Parra are not hammered for this!

It's funny, if you have a look over on their site they completely write off any media articles talking about the loss of points etc. There's too much smoke around this for a minimal punishment.

Yeah they seem to oscillate between blaming the media and blaming Steve Sharp and the board.

You'd have to think that if its not a major penalty that the other 15 clubs would almost revolt!!

If they just give them a slap on the wrist ( quite possible) I think the fans should pummel the media demanding Toddy's head.

If in fact they just lose say 2 or 4 points ( slap on the wrist) we will know that in reality the NRL neither owns or runs the game, TV will have decided what they want!!

Yes, it's been an absolute joke, allowing the Eels to plunder other clubs (like ours) and escape any sanction. They deserve to be punished exactly as the Storm and Bulldogs were punished, the only problem being that they have sweet FA to lose. But, as Masters points out, the NRL is desperate to have the Eels succeed. They need to "win the West" against the AFL. So my guess is they'll do everything they possibly can not to punish them.
As a competition and organisation, the NRL has nothing to do with fairness. Just look at the way this season's draw and allocation of five-day turnarounds has been "managed".
