Parra jam premiership window open

The Eels are now making news for good reasons. They’ve re-signed five players and are now preparing to hit the market to land a back-rower.

Parramatta have rubbished suggestions their premiership window closes at the end of this year after re-signing five players in two days.
The Sunday Telegraph can reveal the Eels have locked in Wiremu Grieg (until 2023) Makahesi Makatoa, Ky Rodwell and Ofahiki Ogden (all until 2024) fresh from securing five-eighth Dylan Brown for at least another 12 months.
The Eels will now turn their attention to securing a top end back-rower for 2023 with the pre-Christmas player headlines now a distant memory.
“That is well and truly behind us,” said Parramatta’s head of football Mark O’Neill. “It was a bit of a whirlwind for a few clubs and we certainly had a fair bit of our share but things were never out of our control.”

No pressure then. Sounds like a gf win in the next 1, 2, 400 years (how many years is it acceptable to say your premiership window is open when it's not?)

I think last year it was open a crack but they missed their shot.
They have been given another easy draw for the first couple of months, so get a chance to build momentum again. But if they they stumble then it could be all over.

The mercurial Dylan brown will lead them to 8th. He’s an 8th kinda player.

Keep in mind.... I'm only the messenger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EELS TO WIN THE PREMIERSHIP (2022)

Ding, dong the witch is dead. The longest NRL premiership drought is set to end in 2022 with the Eels winning their first title since 1986, some 36 years ago.

On paper the Eels have had the least disruption to their squad from last season, even though they have a plethora of stars set to leave the club in 2023.

Reed Mahoney, Marata Niukore, Isaiah Papali’i and Oregon Kaufusi are headed for greener pastures in 2023, while Dylan Brown and Ryan Matterson are no certainties to stay long term.

However every one of these players is on the books for 2022 and so the stars are aligning for one last shot at breaking the premiership hoodoo before the old band breaks up.

Mitchell Moses and Brown are another year into their halves partnership and Clint Gutherson will be supported by Junior Paulo in the captaincy role, which should free him up to get back to his best at fullback.

The biggest issue the Eels have is their lack of wingers with Haze Dunster out for the year and Maika Sivo gone until mid-season, but if they can add Brisbane flyer Jamayne Isaako they should have enough depth to weather the storm until the flying Fijian returns.

No one wants to see another Storm or Roosters Grand Final win so let’s swing for the fences and get long-suffering Parramatta fans dancing in the streets come October.

This prediction seems to be based on what the writer (????) is wanting without much basis of fact. The quality journalism of News Limited never fails to deliver! Brilliant
