Obviously the Eels are going to get better throughout the season but it's great that their party was spoiled tonight. The last 4-5 years these clowns have won round 1 and the slimy bastards fans start carrying on about how it's gonna be their year and how good they are etc. Also the hype with the big crowd and the new signings, for Foran to miss out and the others to misfire, just makes me so happy.

Every year, during pre season, I have this awful thought appear in my head, "what if parra are actually good this season?".
Great to have that thought removed after the very first game of the season.

Eels looked flat, a little disinterested & lacked structure, even accounting for the loss of halves.
Where was the attitude from round 1 vs Manly in 2015....only 50% on the enthusiasm radar.
New signing Guth & Scott looked poor & Gordon was only ok....so much for best off season signings!!
Gillette & Oates went well for Brisbane...Milford the usual flashes, but ordinary game all round.
Maybe only round 1 but Eels could be in for another looooong season.

Hmm and not sure if Corey Norman will get pulled up for using his mobile phone, whilst sitting injured in the worms change room during the second half.

Not sure if it is allowed during a game, some AFL player from the Dockers got investigated for something similar in Feb this year.

But this is the NRL and well the worms seem to do no wrong in greenturd's eyes so maybe nothing will come from it.....!
