To be brutally honest most of our forwards have been a bit ordinary in recent games.

Brown gives 110%

Paseka isn’t as damaging as he was earlier in the year.

AoA, don’t see him as a major threat to any opposition

Ola , doesn’t seem to be like he was since the origin suspension.

Burbo , back up centre and occasional ( very ) edge forward.

Jake , is Jake , a tackle machine and occasional ball distributor.

We need an injection of something , Lodge could be it, dunno but worth a try.

I reckon 1st thing we need is a genuine 9 who can engage the markers and get our forwards punching over the advantage line....but definitely think Lodge is a must, in a team looking like powderpuffs up the middle
He also has an offload which Manly lack....hopefully Koula is lurking around the middle and can take on some tired .forwards off 2nd phase/offloads, as the reason Manly shift so much, is through the middle it's simply 1 out,,,,Will suprise the defence more than the fans with some more passing in the middle- especially offloads

If we are to make a finals dent we probably need Lodge and he is going to need some game time to get going

Only other starting prop option would be Sipley who most likely would not let the side down but looks like Lodge has been showing enough to instil a bit of confidence he could make a worthwhile difference with his stints , including starting .
Dogs seem to be often referred to as having a fairly mobile pack but guess if Lawton [ could play a bit on an edge ] Burbo , Bully and the Big O are on their games , could off set the less then mobile noted Lodge , Jake and Browny.
But these 3 can more then make real contributions in other facets of play

Even if he only plays 20 odd minutes that type of aggression can become infectious on the rest of the pack who have lost their way a touch the last couple of game.

Agree, this will invigorate the pack no end. I'd start with Paseka and Lodge, need to make a first up statement in the first 20min then bring on Brownie to keep it simmering.

Lodge was super underwhelming in his earlier stint this year.

Didn't show any improvement as he got more game time before his injury.

MFB I think you have missed the key to those guys and their performance which is the 9 and the threat from there and the service .Simpkin for me makes our middles look soo much better ,maybe a 1-2 punch with Simkin and Croker but not Croker for 80

Admittedly I was disappointed by a lack of punch from Lodge on return, especially after his input in limited game time in 2023.
This time has had a couple of games under his belt, which will be more advantagous to having that bit more energy and ooomph back in his game.....and boy do we need exactly that, if want to not be back doored 1st week of finals.

The Injection that we need is the Ciraldo Injection that has Inspired his undersized pack of forwards and has them playing above their weight and over achieving
