Galvin is overrated at this point of his career anyway. He had that moment against the Eels earlier in the season and that’s it. He’s tried very hard in a losing side but a couple of tries where he’s backed up have been the only highlights. I’m not sure he has a try assist in the last three months. He just crabs across field and is lost for ideas. The media are responsible for the noise around him, not his actual performances.

He’ll probably end up being quite a handy player…he is just a kid, in a team that is well beaten most weeks, and is often the one that really steps up and goes to the contest…but at this point of his career, he has done very little and the hype is overstated. I think he was called the next Nathan Cleary at one point and that might have influenced the erroneous perception that he is the second coming of Jesus!
At the moment, he is a promising rookie. Tim Smith’s first year in the NRL was better 😂
Good to see Hoppa continue to play well, does very well for his size on kick returns, never gets rag dolled.
For me he has the speed to cement that left wing position.

Can’t see it. He’s going to keep his spot for the foreseeable future and we will just carry him, talau or koula on the bench with burbo to drop out. He’s playing way too good to go back to reserves.
Something is going to have to give in our backline in 2025. All of Garrick, Koula, Hopoate, Talau and Saab are first grade quality and will not be happy to play in second grade. Hoppa and Talau might also be after upgrades on their contracts (and deservedly so too).

Hopoate, Koula & Talau will all be in our 17.
He will find a bench spot for 1 of them (Prob Hoppa). As a coach there are lots of games to be played to keep players happy.
Ben wasn't really needed, and worst case anyway you could play Bullemor on an edge if cover is needed. I think Burbo would drop out for Hoppa on the bench.

He's like the skinny version of To'o. This kid is too good to come off the bench. He should start every game and maybe see how Koula goes as the 14.

Like I said in the Game Day thread, the biggest problem I can foresee with Lehi Hopoate ... is dad, John.
Lehi is first grade quality, he's proven that since his debut. The problem is, where does he play when everyone is on deck?? As the most inexperienced he is arguably the odd man out there and I can't see his old man wanting him to languish in NSW Cup or sitting on Manly's bench hoping someone gets injured when he could be earning good money and be a first choice start elsewhere. There are NRL clubs out there who would pay good money for this kid.
Its going to be tough to keep the kid because 6 doesn't go into 5 and John won't be shy about shopping his boy around should he think there isn't much of a chance to play regular first grade at Manly.

That's a great call. I f**king love him. Weekes had a good shot on him when he scored that try in the corner and he was still strong enough to score.
His hands are incredible and his post-contact metres are unreal. He may also be the most composed player on our team.
