Leagues Club site redevelopment

I'm confused by this paragraph: The leagues club eventually hopes to redevelop the site in a $6 million plan – if it wins a bid for a new lease on the site when the current agreement expires next August.
Can someone explain this?

The Bowling Club site is on Council land and their lease runs out in 2 months.

The merger, if ratified by the relevant Licencing Board, will then upgrade the old site that is now the Bowling Club. The bowling greens may be turned into car parks 😎

Sad state of affairs these days that so many entertainment venues rely on the weak throwing their hard earned mindlessly down a slot to stay afloat.

I used to be a member of the leagues club but let it slide. The travel to get there friday nights was killing me! (lol)
