New recruit Lachlan Croker has wasted little time in making an early impression at the Sea Eagles.

The former Canberra Raiders five-eighth/half took out two of the three 2km time trials over the past few days in the first week of pre-season training for 2018. Croker is not related to Canberra centre Jarrod Croker but is the nephew of former Raiders player Jason Croker.

Croker (pictured) beat home half-back Daly Cherry-Evans in the first two runs before the experienced Manly captain took out the final time trial run. The first week of training also included skills and gym sessions.

I thought Jarrod was also jason’s Nephew or cousin.

It's a good news puff piece from the club in the absence of any big signing announcements.
However it certainly contains all the other things we'd like to hear, such as Lussick also back early and setting an example, all the newcomers impressing, and especially...'Brian Kelly is miles ahead of where he was last year'!

Nailed it, a “ puff piece”!

Don’t think they don’t look on here, they know the natives are restless.

I agree though some other good information , so not all bad.

The Manly prospect who showed up DCE
It’s normally not a great move to show up the boss, especially in your first week in the job.

But that’s exactly what new signing Lachlan Croker did in his first few days as a Sea Eagle.

Croker beat skipper Daly Cherry-Evans in a 2km time trial, stunning Manly insiders.

DCE has led the pack home for as long as anyone can remember, leading veteran official Peter Peters to compare Croker’s win over the skipper to Winx getting beaten.

To his credit, Cherry-Evans was the first to congratulate the 20-year-old.

i hope he's as good on the field as he is on the track. If he is we have a winner.

Gorman’s first signing- a media man without the surname Peters..

Gorman quick to add to the Manly family
New Manly CEO Lyall Gorman has already made one big signing – but this bloke won’t be lacing up the boots.

Gorman has brought leading social media and communications manager Liam Tapper over with him from the Sharks.

Gorman is huge on social media and fan engagement and noted Manly’s social numbers and presence was well below most NRL rivals.

Tapper will change all that and help build the Sea Eagles’ profile and, in turn, membership numbers.

Gorman has also been working the phones since his arrival at Lottoland, ringing key people on the northern beaches to introduce himself and make himself available to them.

Maybe, just maybe, Manly have finally found a CEO that might last longer than a set of six.

"To his credit, Cherry-Evans was the first to congratulate the 20-year-old." Do you reckon that is because DCE was right behind him and came second. They all would have congratulated him. Oh and who won the the time trial after that .. ok its old news on the forum .. DCE .. yep this is an old story.
