Daniel O'Donnell named in South Sydney NSW Cup squad. Not sure if it is the same Daniel O'Donnell that was in our SG Ball Squad and son of David (Pathways Manager) but interesting if it is.

Hopoate on the move​

Yet another member of rugby league's famous Hopoate family is set to make her name in the game next season.

Liesl Hopoate has quit Manly and signed with the Illawarra Steelers in the Tarsha Gale Cup for 2025.

An Australian Secondary School representative this year, 17-year-old Liesl was in hot demand for next season and Manly aren't happy at losing the promising local junior.

The daughter of famous bad boy John Hopate and younger sister of Albert, Lehi and Will, Liesl is a talented utility who has set her sights on playing in the NRLW.

With the Junior Reps comp due to start in 3 weeks, the Harold Matts and SG Ball teams have trials this Saturday vs North Sydney Bears at Narrabeen. I believe its a 11:15am and 1pm kick off for those interested.

The wet weather over the past few days has meant a change of venue, Norths now hosting the game. Just waiting on new venue, will post once known.

PATHWAYS TRIALS POSTPONED THIS WEEKEND​

The scheduled pathways trial matches for this weekend against the South Sydney Rabbitohs have been postponed due to the adverse weather and field availability in Sydney.

Matches were originally scheduled to be played this Saturday 18 January against the Rabbitohs in the SG Ball Cup under 19s men’s, Tarsha Gale Cup under 19s women’s, Harold Matthews Cup under 17s boys and Lisa Fiaola Cup under 17s girls levels.

The Sea Eagles will make further updates if and when the games can be rescheduled ahead of the season commencement on Saturday 1 February in all four grades.
