I agree that it's unfair to put undue pressure on young players but are wrong about the rationale for a one year deal. Just like you were wrong when you said he was an ordinary goal kicker. There are lots of clubs interested in Jamie but he is a loyal and patient young man who wants to earn his position at Manly.

Sorry,I don't remember when I said he was an ordinary goalkicker,did I say that when he was a junior a few years back?
It is fine for you to say I am wrong about the rationale,I believe I actually posted "who knows" and thought it clear I was speculating and giving an opinion,do you have proof I am wrong about my speculation apart from saying I am wrong?
Do you have anything to prove it in regards to "lots of clubs" interested?Signing a one year contract a few weeks into the pre season doesn't sound like they were beating a path to his door.....

Yeah I hope Siebold agrees, Croker can't be faulted for his efforts but in terms of talent he is second tier.

You only miss them when there're gone and Croker would be missed. Croker and Jakes ruck defense will be needed more than ever. Surely we have enough attacking weapons to win us most games now.

We all have our favorite Manly players for different reasons

The way I see it ,
All players are capable of specialising playing a certain position
But not all players are capable of dominating a game

Although Croker adds stability to Manly
He does not add the fear of Uncertainty to the Opposition teams
And Uncertainty is the Mother of all fears !

The moral of my story
The Capable can Complete
But only The Dynamic will Dominate

I agree to a point, Humphries will need to be able to do the tough stuff to be ready to displace Croker.

I thought he had another good game yesterday. Looks good with ball in hand and does not shirk the hard stuff. I said after last weeks game that he has the inside running to the 14 spot on the bench. However got to say that Gordie had a top game yesterday also and looked really dangerous. Could go either way here but fantastic position for the club to be in. May the best man win!!

Yeah,I tend to agree,Gordie offers a little more spark off the bench,but neither Humphreys or Gordie were that impressive(solid,but not impressive)yesterday.
Lawton can play 9/12/13 and 6 and is better defensively in the middle,obviously doesn't have the kicking game of Humphreys or the attacking spark of Gordie.

With addition of Brooks we now have two top tier options for general play kicks on the paddock at the same time, so less of a need for a kicking game from the hooker.
