Jamal Fogarty

With respect walsh and large are not ready they both need another season. We blood them we may destroy them Galvin was ready our two will be 1st graders but next season is a season to early imo.
There was that view on Galvin that he wasn’t ready at 18, he wasn’t the finished product but he brought points for the Tigers and was their best player last season.

You never know until you give them a go, they have NSW cup this season to test them,

So looks like we may be after Adam Reynolds or Foran!!! I’d be happy with either, although Reynolds would fill the void left by DCE much better!! Allows Brooks to stay at 5/8.

If my memory serves me correctly, didn't Seibs ask the NRL he wanted Large to play in a trial game and they said no? Seibs must think he's ready like Sualii was at a similar age.

Hi mate
how's the futures going ?

I check in now and again to have a look from Saigon.

To be honest this mess just has to be looked at as an opportunity. Anyone who thinks we can win a competition with basically the same pack of underperforming forwards we have had for a few years isn't really watching. DCE is a fine player individually but in big games, without a dominant pack , he's not come close for years. In saying that not many would. The idea that out pigs will turn up on GF day and match Panthers / Storm etc is just wishful thinking.
Why waste two years knowing DCE will play great at times and we won't win a comp.

So if you accept that our window is a couple of years away , DCE leaving lets us

1. If we do get Fogarty, see what the brilliance in our backline could do with an organized as opposed to brilliant hot and cold half like DCE. Nothing may change in all likelihood but woukd be interesting to see for a year and give an insight as to what approach best suits our great talent out wide

2. Fast forward some junior talent that is regarded as the best in years -Walsh / Large

3. Free up some cash to address the other reason why we never compete when the whips are cracking - a top class 9.

Two years more of DCE in reality just defers what needs to be done with very little chsnce of a title. If he hasn't got one now , he's not going to get one with our current forwards at 38.

Seems like a no brainer for me
Fabulous to see you back 👏👏👏

Yeah don’t want Reynolds. He looks in pain every time he gets tackled. Although age is just a number when you compare dce to Reno you’d argue dce looks the younger of the two.
He just doesn't have a good tackling technique as well, he just throws out a flailing arm with no body weight behind it. If he's cheap, would consider it I guess.

Te Galvin comparison I would be interested to know (without sounding like a creep) the body / size difference (and lower grade games played) between him and Walsh.
Only of the TV Galvin looks like he could fill out to a back rower almost

I would prefer Reynolds. It would probably only for one year (2026). He gives his all and over last 3 years has averaged 20 games a season. Nathan Cleary averaged 18. I believe youth is the answer and would be surprised if DCE did not continue to mentor Walsh and Large. Reynolds could continue with this. Fogerty would want a long term contract. I expect Walsh and large to start playing some top grade in 2026.

Thanks - so more league experience for Galvin / a year older as well

Like most of us here, I was shocked and terribly disappointed to hear the news of DCE's departure. However, the thought of Jamal Fogarty playing half really excites me. I have been a fan for a number of seasons and believe he is the most underrated half in the comp.
SSSShhhh don't pump him up $$$$$$@:D
