We all know Fogarty has an top notch kicking game.

What he doesn't have, is 1st tackle chip kicks and headless chook 5th tackle plays under pressure.

We need game time stability. We need game time steady.
We need structure.

Imo Fogarty delivers structure.

The alternative approach hasn't delivered comps since the lifetime contract.

I’ll explain it for you then. The point is Fogerty is ordinary, but his price is almost what we were planning to pay DCE. Which means next season, we have a downgrade on DCE but are still hamstrung by the salary cap, thus preventing us from going to market to improve other areas of our squad.

It’s only an opinion, but unless we are going to get a salary cap advantage from DCE’s departure, it’s lose-lose for Manly.

The only way to get an upside, is to lose DCE and have money to spend in other areas. That ain’t happening with Fogerty on the books, which is why I hope it doesn’t happen.

My problem with this scenario is (and how I hate to have to type it) is Turbo's injury history. We have a FB replacement in young Hoppa, but the halves are difficult to replace for weeks at a time.

The only way to take advantage of DCE’s departure is to blood a rookie or use Arthur. Then there’ll be money for forwards and/or a better 9.

He’s on 650k at Canberra next year if he takes up the option. He ain’t passing that up for 500k.
