I hope they don’t restrict his runs from dummy halve, he ran more than he has been today and that’s a sign of confidence in being selected each week.

Deserves to start and wear the nine jersey for me.

I hope Seibold took notice that our 40-0 run happened when Simpkin was dummy half.

I'm not saying he was responsible for that score line, not at all. But his service during that time was first class and it contributed to it.

And now with Paseka's unfortunate injury I think its time Jazz was moved out of dummy half and into being the bench forward we bought him to be (he's trying his best at dummy half and its not his fault he's been lumbered with a role almost no other club would have him playing).

Maybe, though he won’t give impact in terms of bending the opposition line, he is an all effort player and replacing Tent you want someone who is going to make good post contact meters.

Sipley for me to replace Tent, if Sipley is still being caught out in defence then it would be someone else who can bend the line.

The pack would get dominated with small forwards, happened to the Dogs when finals came around last season with small forwards.

There is Turtleness about Simpkins. He is another iceman.

Speed of legs and play of the ball speed is just as important as bending a line. Up front.

I can imagine Jazz being a better starting prop than many give him hope towards.

We had all ball and at one stage it was 70% of it
But what ever defence he had to do he was sound I believe

After he came on, Simpkin made 22 tackles, missed 2 and had 2 ineffective tackles (according to the NRL website). His tackle efficiency was 84.62%

In reality away from the stats sheet, you could say his defence wasn't bad. Not exactly Matty Ballin, but can't really complain about yesterday.

Yes we need to see how he goes against a forward pack that is in a mood, like the Roosters game last year

But Crokes has 4 or 5 years of putting his body on the line for Manly teammates week in week out, plus just being a decent person, so in the end that counts for something. (Not indefinitely though)

He also has a kicking game. His scoot and boot has gotten us out of trouble on a rare occasion, given us an extra option at 5th and a few 40/20's on top.

He also has good leadership value. In my humble opinion i think froggy is under rated in this forum. He's given us great service

Yep. But well done to score a try in his 50th NRL game.
I noticed Jazz never came back on, even though we finished with just 12. Was he injured?
Or did we stuff up the interchanges? Seemed like Jake went off for about 3 minutes in the 2nd half then came back on??

That’s the issue,I believe he doesn’t give great service and is not a threat from dummy half.And if his defence is why he is picked ahead of others now or in the past,why has so many teams rumbled straight up the middle of Manly’s defence?I understand the sentiment of him being a great teammate/clubman and that should count for something,but this team needs something more now and a point of difference in attack

He lacks speed and has an average delivery but ticks every other box. Subbing in fainu worked a charm and our spine was never the issue.

In regards to teams rumbling up the middle, the forward pack just sucked the last few years and I'm still not convinced it's fixed. We miss AFB.

He only played 5 games beside Fainu(assuming you meant Manase)

I think it would be beneficial to allow Croker to get some match fitness first. Right now the selected hookers and doing fine. If it aint broke, dont fix it!!
