Simpkins was great; GCKT not up to first grade standard. Just use Jazz at hooker if Simpkins needs a breather. Jazz was very good at 13 also, lot more energy and did well as the link man.

Simpkins has been very good this year and tonight he went to another level.

The game has now changed dramatically, to many 6 agains, supposed high tackles, plenty of penalties and now sin binnings a plenty. With the finals in mind, it's going to be crazy chaotic.

We still need his tackling tho, that middle part in the 2nd half is where I'd have Jake churning out tackles.

Easily the best game I've seen him play at Manly, great work.
I think the more lumbering pack he's usually had to play with also probably has put his own defence under more pressure, just that little bit of extra mobility in the pack helps all round.
But I didn't know Simpkin could play that well, keep it going please Jake!

The sad state of affairs is, Simpkin only started the game thru injuries and suspension. Certainly not thru Spoonys wonderful vision of how to coach and win footy matches

i was surprised(in hindsight i suppose i shouldn't have) that after the game most of the talk was regarding turbo & dce. i really think jake's effort tonight, especially his running game was superb. but as always the so called experts only have eyes for a special few. im not discounting their efforts, just highlighting jake's effort tonight.

Why do we keep talking about buying a new hooker when we have Simpkin.

He was again excellent tonight after he came on and was a lot better than De Silva.

Can we just concentrate on developing this kid and spend our $$ on some props and 2nd rowers.

I think he’s the best option currently at the club and I’d rather see them persist with him than spend $$,but there are parts of his game that need work.He has a tendency to not pass from the deck,causing play to slow down at times.The big concern is that they’ve got Ennis there to improve the dummy halves and is being mentioned as a possible replacement for Seibold
