Jake avoids ban

We have our first Brookie Koala

Honestly think they went easy on him to justify not sending him off, either way glad we got one go our way for a change.

Unfortunately what this decision does is highlight the total lack of consistency that currently plagues the NRL.

Nick Cotric got 5 weeks for his tackle (plus he got sent off), yet Jake gets off virtually scott free.

Josh McGuire only gets fined for two eye gouges while Burgess got a multiple week holiday.

Matt Dufty and Kaylan Ponga get away with shoulder charges while Kikau got 2 weeks for what was nothing more than a good tackle.

While I am happy Jake got away with it, I'm very much surprised because regardless of any conspiracy theories like Manly loading, we've seen players suspended for much less. Is it any wonder that fans are turning away from the NRL when things like this keep on happening?

What about the Issac Luke tackle on Brown? It was a cracker. In the glory days of RL it would have been on the highlight reel. Picked him up and drove him back onto his back.
Brown jumped up, no real damage done.
But wait. In today's Pollyanna sport he not only gets penalised but he is now facing two or three weeks on the sidelines.
Poor Worriers. Not only was the outcome of the game a Fix by the refs but now they are being stitched up by the Review Panel.
Disgraceful.
Good strong tackles are no longer rewarded. I guess the NRL will have them wiped out by 2021 when all we'll see are 'dancing' tackles by three men against the ball carrier.
