I thought Garrick was directly responsible for conceding 6 of the tries today. Not sure he can be retained next week based on that alone.

I thought Crokers service really stifled DCE and the attack. Many passes out of dummy half were slow, way out in front or well behind. If he's our best choice for hooker we are in for a long season. I hope Des picks up Peats (or any other specialist first grade hooker available). The team cant afford to play the wait and see game for Fainu.

I genuinely reckon Garrick has been a significant factor in 1/4 to 2/3 of all tries conceded over the 2020 and now 2021 seasons. Yet now he doesn’t even have a strong or fast running game. As mean as it is, he is useless to us and a liability

Croker’s passes weren’t world class but I saw him getting out of dummy half with a little bit of speed at times. However, the problem was that the people around him like dce and paseka were standing flat footed and we had no players in motion around him (also the case with a few of Dylan Walker’s runs). Croker was not good, but not that bad and the main thing is that he didn’t concede 46 points as Des said.

I am just so disappointed with des, he used to be such an innovator, nicknamed the mad professor because of all the new stuff he introduced to our team. He hasn’t just stagnated he doesn’t even seem to be keeping up with how the game is changing. He is going backwards and our game is suffering miserably as a consequence. Sad times

Garrick needs to go... there is nothing about his play that warrants him playing first grade forvanother week. Even his goal kicking has plummeted and his defence isn't even NSW Cup standard. This is a no brainer, if he's named next week, the knives will be out.

We need a fullback who can play more than 10 games a year and pay for a hooker who is aloud to play and replace our left side weaknesses.
this is coming from a professional couch coach.

Unfortunately he will be named, Garrick’s form the last season did not warrant him earning selection this season.

It’s a concern that players that perform badly and consistently horrible get selected, Des is now 2 wins from his last 13 as head coach.

Funa and Tuipulotu must come in for Parker and Garrick.
I like the idea of playing Schuster left center, he trained there last season.

He has to be in the starting 13 based on the abysmal performance today. I agree with either Tuipuloto or Funa on the left wing.

Garrick could consider himself lucky to be picked NSW cup, hopefully it ain’t just us and the dragons who knocked him back (on the Saab swap) that can see Garrick is out of his depth.

Hasler’s press conference today after the game just shows how out of touch and stubborn the old bastard is ! He claims defence is the problem. so why keep selecting the same old bums that won’t and can’t tackle. Absolute joke , and he “feels a BIT embarrassed for the fans” - wake up Des it’s been going on for over a dozen games and you have done nothing about it , and you should be VERY EMBARRASSED !!!!!!!!!!

Defence will be less of an issue(but still a problem) if our attack was more direct and efficient, being able to dominate some field position and induce fatigue into the opposition so that it is an arm wrestle beyond 6.25mins.

When the attack is clunky and old school predictable the heads drop off and the enthusiasm to put in defensively is reduced(especially with young players), you don't feel the effort in defence will be rewarded at the end so the 1% effort plays start to drop off and it becomes a chain reaction.

One out passing from Croker to a short lead runner is boring as f99K, DCE and Foran work well with passing variety that is either short with speed and running momentum or a distant crisp flat wide lateral pass to mix things up---going through the short pass off the ruck and second man play to the half is cumbersome and doesn't get you to the edges quick enough.

When Croker passed a flat face ball out front in the second half Manly almost created an overlap---we need to gain confidence off the ability to score points more easily and the defence will want to show up after that.

The very early exchanges the Roosters were looking up before receiving the ball with some good first contact defence, we just need to give the team more reason to sustain it because at the moment the mind is weak as sh(t and the dropping of heads way too easily for a first grade squad.

The beauty of Ballin was that he allowed Foran and DCE space from the ruck due to his crisp long service and Manly could play laterally very efficiently and catch teams out, making yardage on the edges---we really miss this but need to evolve beyond this limitation also.
