Hooker

after re watching the Penrith game, it absoluetly solidifies how much we have been lacking a quality hooker. Simpkin played great and it made the whole team look much morer slick and our play the ball so was much quicker and got us on teh front foot.
I dont think Simpkin is a top notch hooker but having an actual hooker playing that role help

Now

For the love of god, please please go after a top quality front line hooker........ I know most are uynder contract, but that matters little these days, we need to shift some deadwood and go all out

Egan would be my pick, Pattie, Starling maybe.... obvisouly the top 3-4 we wont get

Da Silva or Pattie would be great.

Da Silva could look to leave if Api resigns but Pattie just re-signed.

Not huge on Starling, think he is in a current little purple patch but overall not sure he is it.

Simpkin needs to be giving a real crack as starting hooker though.

Simpkin was unreal on Saturday but I fear his effectiveness could be limited once Jake comes back into the side and slows down our momentum and speed around the ruck. I think this would be an issue for any of the names being thrown around in here.

Would like to see how things look with a few more weeks against different oppositions, with Jazz still in the 13 and seeing where Jake fits into it all but my preference right now would be to persist with Simpkin. Keep developing Zaidas/Large and use any money we have to sign up some younger forwards.

I was all for Starling, especially considering his playing relationship with Fogarty, and the fact his contract situation and value translates to actual attainability for Manly.

But after watching Simpkin's performance on Saturday, I think we should back Jake all the way. Zaidas and Ashton to follow, I think we may finally have solved our dummy half issue (provided, of course, Seibold doesn't revert back to guys like Croker and Tevaga unless in circumstances of necessity)

Gentle seems to have secured our spine for some time. If we can re-sign Talau, our backline should also be secured moving forward.

Now let's get stuck into a couple of high quality forwards, and a new defensive coach

Im happy to back simpkins !
As others stated we got young zaidus then the possible superstar in large a few years away .
Please please seibold dont go back to a make shift hooker it is unbelievably clunky!
Also did anyone notice the difference with smaller forwards who actually had a bit of agility?
Shock horror we looked alot better.

We have 2 of 9's only 1-2 seasons off NRL
But this thread, is 1 most will have to agree with and also 1 we have seen in 10 times over the past year which is a very good indication your post and point are spot on
