In terms of acceleration, DCE has a pretty impressive burst. Dunno what his top line speed is like but scouts for NFL are usually less interested in that and focus more on a guys ability to get going.

Straight line speed has proven to be a very poor indicator of NFL success - see the Oakland Raiders draft strategy with receivers before Al Davis died...
A lot of teams these days use the tight end as the go to man with the wideouts as options

Better hide the turbos from the nfl scouts. They regularly run over 200 yards a game without having a rest :0)

For those interested, Hayne killing it again. Made 3 strong Punt returns already in the quarter.

Coach has pulled him off the field which commnetators are saying is an indication that he is likely in the team and they don't want to injure him

I have been watching it on and off and was wondering if he was going to get another run

Who is their regular return person?

NFL to me is such a boring game to watch and as for the Parra Hayne train I have no interest at all unless he wears the Manly colours :)

Was it against first team d?

Hayne ran 100m in 11.20s in 2010 (with spikes on an athletics track) before he put on weight and had hamstring issues so I wouldn't go as far as extraordinary, but he is quick. Snake ran 10.2 in 2006 on grass at training in footy boots.

I find the snake time a bit dubious as that would have put him on par with our quickest 100m sprinters for the year (spikes, track, blocks, training et al) of 10.18 Patrick Johnson.

Chuck him on an athletics track plus spike and blocks and surely he would have found half a second, probably more and hold the Australian record, possibly the world record.

I have no real interest in NFL either but thats not the point. Its about someone taking a massive risk to achieve their dreams.

Happy for the Hayne Train in following through with his dream.

It just goes to show how the NFL system creates specialists for every facet of their game to the detriment of special athletes like Hayne.
The all rounders who can catch, sidestep, run, kick and fend are all lost to them @

Hope he gets a gig

Oh man, why they gotta do this...

Just temper your expectations folks. The returns, well nice and all but he won't be returning punts or kicks. There are two guys above him on the depth chart.

He's also running against the third string D again. A lot of starters were not even allowed to play by their teams because the field there is dodge.

Just everyone take a breath a settle down...

He wasn't interesting in being a sprinter though, he wanted to play League. The sprint coach at Manly responsible for giving that information, said at the time that Snake could train for the Olympics if he wanted to.
