I remember a few months ago the talk was about Gordie needing to wait until round 11 due to being a development player. Here we are in round 21, season pretty much over and we're still ignoring our biggest problem area over the last four years. And in that time since we've managed to bring in 3 players not in the top 30 at the time in Lodge, Arthur and Matterson, so we've obviously shown it can be done. I fear this will turn out to be another Fainu situation given his manager and we will be stuck with Croker for at least another 5 years..

I guess we'll only see him in First Grade when we are mathematically unable to make the eight. Currently our selectors are relying on 'proven' players to win matches, resulting in a lot of boofheads in our pack. It's like the Australian cricket selectors continuing selecting Warner.

He would stand out like dogs balls if he was ready for 1st grade. I have watched a few of his games and there has been no dogs balls. 😀

I love the kid and hope he turns into a Cinderella story ... great little footballer .. courgeous and skillful.

That's the great Croker dilemma. He made 54 tackles last week and is consistently one of the hardest working players in the team but as a dummy half, it seems like he is contributing to us losing the middle most weeks. What do you do? I still don't get why he isn't job sharing with gckt.

If GCKT is not good enough so be it, it doesn't mean that Croker should have a lifetime's subscription to the hooker position by default. Bring in someone like Jake Turpin, who's off contract this year.

now if only our recruitment team would stop looking in the 2nds bargain bin and snap up a 9 who could help optimise our lumbering forward pack so that we can use our size rather than simply be a victim of it . I don't know know if GT is the answer but I do we cannot go thru another season with only Froggy at 9 ,that is plain for anyone to see we need to upscale that 9 role and Mamazoulas ? is the man imho. He is plug and play and ready to go now ,be daring Siebold put your big boy panties on and get him now, even if he isnt managed by Moses .We have enough I think in most areas in the team to more than get by i.e be in the finals but the 9 is a glaring deficiency

Ridiculous.. during origin and injuries.. this kid hasnt debut yet. Dont give me his defence isnt upto scratch because pretty much majority of our forwards are useless in defence and they play every week. At least he would provide impact off the bench. Not many players can do that right now. When Paseka goes off we have nothing off the bench.

I agree he should get a go, I mean we are needing something more and he offers this and has potential to actually unlock opposition defence and as example, off the bench with all that possession against Cows, would have created more chances to put points on the board....

Hey Woodsie - hope your well mate, well I like to exaggerate a little mate....is that ok with you 😅
He does have some zip in attack
He does have some tackling deficiencies
It's how it is....personally I reckon he has ability ....and like most rookies, some rough edges, he ain't a Harry Grant or Cook....but just may add more flare in 10-15 minutes stints than what we have shown and sorry Woodie, you ain't changin my stubborn mind mate

Hes played quite well whenever i have caught him. He just has speed and control of the ruck. Croker doesnt. Its why we lack so much direction at times. His defence is a little suspect.. but being a 'goer' is more than most in our current side.

It's not as though anyone is asking for Gordie to straight up take Croker's spot, just to have him on the bench as a replacement during games.. he doesn't even need to play big minutes, we just need some sort of alternative because 80 minutes of Croker has not, is still not, and will not continue to work

The constant talking down of young players because they may or may not be ready for first grade (and guess what, most kids in their late teens/early 20's aren't the full package yet) is tiring. Especially when you consider there are players in our current team with around 100 games experience (even one with 260 games to his name!) who aren't up to first grade right now, and the results are reflecting that. It's really not a crazy ask to want to see something different
