Galvin

Galvin is a very good player and certainly would solve our immediate half back problem and then transition to lock. We need to rebuild the engine it is way too slow and we are being left behind. No point having a premium backline trying to perform from behind a beaten pack.
Galvin is definitely a good player and (probably) will be generational. So yes we need to be in this discussion with him which "legally" cannot start until Nov. However what is absolutely a far more pressing priority is to restructure our engine room. To do that we will need to restructure some existing contracts and free up some much needed cap space. These existing contracts are currently spread right across the park so not just restricted to the forwards. Identifying some new or additional prospective 3rd party deals should also be a top priority. There is no reason why all these activities cannot be run in parallel. Lets get our house in order first up.

Lackie rose to stardom as a 19-year-old playing halfback and being the main play maker in an ordinary team, ... I believe his form has been diminished by playing 2nd string to Luau ... I think he should be switched back to 7 and Luau back to 6 ..

So we have had a 1.3 million albatross curtailing our cap spend ( along with a couple of other expensive ones ) for years and we are lining up to do it again.

I call bull**** on this , and honestly who’d believe “ the Mole” I used to follow him but he’s just full of made up **** to justify his role.

Yeah I dunno, do we really want to hang another albatross around our neck with another huge contract on a young half whose potential may or may not come to fruition?

I prefer the idea of balance across the squad so we don't continue finding ourselves in a position of only being able to buy old forwards in the twilight of their careers, just so we can hang onto a young half who so far has shown himself (via his manager) to be a disruptive factor.

These 10 year big money contracts have yet to prove to be successful for the clubs who have offered them - DCE & Tom & Jake with us, Taumololo at the Cowboys, I'm sure there's a couple more I'm forgetting, & I don't have much confidence in Dylan Brown's decade long contract at Newcastle, considering he's breaking his current decade-long contract at the Eels to go there!

They are similar style players. Kind of makes me wonder why they had a sign at all cost approach to Galvin. They would actually be better with an organiser like Fogarty to complement luau.

That's just it ... I think Galvin is a genuine organiser and chief playmaker ... and Luau a great sidekick ..

I can’t believe some people wouldn’t want to have a generational talent on our team at the start of his career. Every team has players on $1million+ deals, our problem is the Trbojevic’s bodies are sadly cooked. Jake is a snail & turbo can’t play 3 consecutive games. Fogarty also has NOT signed with us yet. Brooks is 31 this year & won’t be extended past this contract.

We all hope Large & Walsh are guns but they haven’t proven a thing unlike Galvin who had 1 of the best rookie seasons of all time according to people like Gus & Joey Johns. Those boys have played maybe 2-3 games each this season so far in juniors which isn’t great for development. Large is also an athletic freak & could play full back or centre to start his career. Tom will probably retire after 2026 + Garrick is off contract so I don’t see any paths being blocked.

Understandable that people want a few good forwards to add to our pack, signing Galvin doesn’t mean we can’t. Turbo, Jurbo, DCE, Garrick, Croker all most likely won’t be extended or will be on extremely reduced deals after 2026. That will be around $3.5 million opened up in the cap over the next 2 years. I’m excited knowing the nightmare cap situation is almost over

What a kick in the teeth to the Tigpies.

Again a club who gives a kid his first break is screwed over by a player who makes it all about him, a big red flag in my book!!
No one owes us anything in life
Every one should have the right to live their lives the way they want to
All Players will eventually move on for some reason or other .
No one is bigger than the club . The club always Evolves
And In order to Evolve we must release what no longer serves us
We refocus on our own path and our own future
and Get On with our lives Instead of Wasting our Precious and Productive time Whinging

The moral of the story ...
Grow some Balls and Move on
And Make your own Life without Relying on people who dont want to be there with you .
Grow Some Balls! Funny Gifts! – Haha ...

Looks like it would come down to which clubs would be prepared to outlay 1 mil for a number of seasons and just can not see how Manly in practical terms should come into the equation with cap and team balance considerations .
Dogs on all indications , not in contention , Eels and Roosters more in the frame but would the D C E aspect and possible Roosters connection be a factor as well .
Maybe does not seem a good look if Galvin or his management are publicly belittling the Tigers coaching situation and when they have apparently shown some real improvement this season so far .
just does not seem have a good feel about it with any serious Manly connection for a range of reasons despite him also apparently being a very promising young player
