Awesome, we keep losing players with no replacements, apart from reserve graders.

Brian Kelly (released, no replacement)
Frank Winterstein (released, no replacement)
Tom Amone (released, by Blacktown, no replacement)
Dylan Walker (sacked for now, not seeking dispensation)
Manase Fainu (unavailable for drunken sex videos)

Yep, new era alright.

Brian Kelly replaced by a player with more speed that was lacking from last season in Garrick

Winterstein replaced by the younger and much improved Corey

Amone replaced by the forwards that stepped up from the lower grades from last season

Walker (no one knows what is going behind the scenes with dispensations . Who knew about Frank going to Penrith ? No one )

Fainu is a footy star and a porno star . He is a stud on and off the field

Off course the pessimists can not see anything new about our era

Best of luck to him. I couldn't quite work Frank out. Seemed huge and strong in pics but I can't remember seeing him bend lines, bust through defences, hammer people in tackles.

Anyway, as said. good luck Frank.

Simple ... played too much union and couldn't adjust ... either in running style, or in defense. When he tackled he was effective , but it was always like he went in to hold them rather than hit them one on one .... and running he never seemed to try to get his shoulder through or between tacklers, or bust a tackle ... it was like he was just taking it up to turn and release ....

Was always supportive of Frankie, thought he was solid and dependable, but I confess that I had thought he would have improved more than he did ... good luck to him.

Nothing against Frank but will be glad for an opportunity to be given to someone else within. It would be nice if Frank could take TB with him.

It’s interesting to see Tom Amone and Liam Knight are expected to make the 17 for round 1 at Souths. Those are two better forwards we’ve let go recently but I wish Frank all the best and I’m very comfortable with Des’s decision to release him.
Waddell and Go-JetSki have more potential and a clearer pathway now so I’m good ; )

Nice summary. Probably spot on, now that I think about it - his style did represent that of a rugby player, especially defence close to the line. Like you, I think he was solid - occasionally very solid, like that game where we beat the Storm last season - but never really kicked on.

Won't argue that he was solid and dependable. But he was never a player you wanted to rely on as a regular first grade player. Back in the day he was one of those who would have spent most of his playing time in reserve grade.

Good luck to him at Penrith, but I can't see him being a major player in their first grade side.

You also pointed out that the lack of running from our second rowers was due to a Trent Barrett “no run” stand down policy aimed at confusing opposition defences.

Nah, I'll leave talking shiite and dribbling up to you ... you're good at it ...
I wasn’t talking ****e... you pointed out several times that you believed Trent had employed a strategy regarding our second rowers. This tactic was explained (by you) as the reason why they weren’t running the football as much as other backrowers in the competition. (which I happen to agree with) Go back and read the posts. Funnily enough, old Frank looked at his best when he ran the football (he can run alright) won’t surprise me one bit if he has a good year at the Riff.

If manly paid frank anywhere near 250k to 300k as mentioned on here they have got rocks in their head. I cant see how he would have been on any more than 200k max.
