Was trying to get on the MWRLFC website and see if last years annual report was available, but it looks like their website has been hacked. Very limited access to the site atm. Anyone heard anything about it or know what is going on ? @Jonesyv2 @vidmar

Just logged on there now. I get all the usual stuff I can usually see. I can't see anywhere for the annual report (or previous reports if they ever did that.)

I do remember emailing them a few months ago (november) and they said they were doing some updating/maintenance.

So....looks ok to me, but I can't see any annual reports (if that's the norm.)
 
I can log in as a member but you just get the limited access for that. Before you could access a whole other lot of info such as the annual reports, pages on the history of Manly, life members, among other things.

You can't go to the "normal" www.manlyfootballclub.com.au website anymore. Everything gets redirected to the "membership" page now.
 
I got my copy of the annual report at the agm in December. As per usual it has many good things in it and this edition was produced without a scrap of help from the Sea eagles owners who see the football club as a group that doesn't represent them. Such a shame that it has come to this . We should be united and that is not the case. This needs to change.

Because the FC received a 'cease and desist' from the MSE.

They claim that the FC is breaching their intelectual property rights by using the Logo, player info etc.
Even though the preference share covers the logo and colours as I understand it.

The Annual Report was still produced as the FC are rightly claiming that they are the only ones who bother to maintain a log of Manly's history. FC had to troll the internet for the player stats for 2016 as the MSE would not supply them - allegedly 😕

But they had to block access of the site that holds Manly history till a friendly (free) intellectual property lawyer comes to their aid.

Pathetic does not describe the MSE's Fan Engagement skills 😡

Also noticed that when you ring the Club number you only get the Franchise or Shop. When you ask for the Leagues Club, they say that they have no connection to them any more @:cool:

That's just gone from sad to ****ing petty!!

Thought I'd heard it all but that takes the cake.
 
The owners continue to try and freeze out the football club and they want total control. The football club is there to keep the 10 games at Brookvale and the Sea Eagles have a goal to take more home games away from Brooky in the pursuit of profit. The football club is there to protect the heritage of the club and that is not for sale!! The owners need to understand that the football club has a role to play moving forward and that to freeze them out is just going to cause more division at a time when our club needs unity.

Seriously ??? That will do me. And we are supposed to believe this mob have the best intentions of the club at heart. I thought their efforts to undermine the FC life member process was pathetic, but this takes the cake.

I hope that every fan who truly cares about Manly and it's fine history join up as members of the FC and give it the strength to outlast this petty attempt to kill it off. The FC is the heart and soul of 70 years of Maroon and White tradition, it's been there for the whole journey, it's the keeper of the flame....don't let it become extinguished. Best $25 I've spent this year.

My theory is that they think that the relentless vitriol will drive the FC Members away.

But I find that the Members are even more fervent in upholding our 70 year heritage :nod:

The FC has been publishing the Annual Reports since the franchise era began, so why try to sue them 12 years later?
