Football Club Website

@Mark from Brisbane I think they should be more representative of the wider fan base, similar to the 'role' members play in AFL clubs. Currently the FC has from memory approx 600 members or so? Hardly a representative number and to be honest an indictment on the current board!

I feel they should be the independent voice of all the season ticket holders (i.e. 10k to 15k 'base') therefore having a lot more 'pull' when it comes to providing input and influencing management.

Admittedly this is impossible in the current environment between the organizations and in terms of being able to fund such an entity it would be difficult.

Having said that the current model is achieving nothing and adding no value to anything one. Something has to change - as the great ironstine himself said the keep doing the same thing and expect a different result is the definition of insanity!

No doubt there is two sides to the story, there always is. I just don't understand why progress can't be made in an inclusive, amicable way rather than what appears as a vindictive settling of scores. Hard to warm to the current ownership management style from my point of view, maybe others think differently.

I'm not ashamed to say I feel more of an affiliation to the FC in terms of what "Manly" is as an entity. To me that is where the history and tradition rest, that is why I hope it has a future moving forward. I get that we need money and private owners to financially carry the burden, and I am grateful for the numerous ones that have stumped up cash over the years. But without that link to the past what do we as fans have ? what do the owners have ?

Hopefully time will heal all wounds.

I think we are agree on this point C&C - it will be a brave man or women who offers the first olive branch to restore what should be a great relationship (maybe Valentine's Day will do the trick).

But it will require a few of the personalities on both sides to step aside for this to happen

There's no doubting @The Wheel that personalties have played the biggest part in the situation we have today.

I think it may repair itself in time, there's a few on the FC side of things who should quietly retire, and one at least on the MWSE side.

Until that happens it's likely the stalemate will continue.

Not up to the FC. :shake:

They have not changed their charter in 70 years.
Even wikipedia is missing the list of Manly Players from 2016 @:(

Manly are being erased from rugby league history unless the MSE step up @

Getting back to my original reason for trying to log onto Footy Club website....I'd be grateful to anyone who has a copy of the 2016 Annual Report that they could email me. I emailed the club to request one, but got no response.

One other question - has anyone received their 2017 membership card yet ??

Try [email protected]
Julie Sibraa is the Secretary and should have the AR. She is always at Brookie on game days along with Kerry

The Membership cards usually get sent in April

On the advise of the Silvertails posters I have been a member of the FC now for 2 years and havn't even received one lanyard.
Not good enough FC! I should be adding an extra lanyard to the 3 that I receive from my other membership every year. #weneedmorelanyards

Good point.
I think after three years we get voting rights so next year you can put forward the motion of "FC Members lanyards".
I can second it and off we go!
