The Cheese ... allegedly charged

These were the other players on the "golf" trip.
Is Nick going to get rid of Teddy as well 🤣😅

So seven players – Radley, Chad Townsend, Sandon Smith, Hugo Savala, James Tedesco, Zach Dockar-Clay and Egan Butcher – took the opportunity to spend a few days in each other’s company on one of Queensland’s most picturesque courses.
Being on a golf trip doesn’t automatically imply any drug-taking or wrong-doing on the part of any of the other players present.

I think people should be careful about making unsubstantiated innuendos (at least without saying ‘allegedly’)

It is an interesting case re Radley

I am not sure there would be grounds to sack a player on this unless they can wing it into bringing the club / game into disrepute. I guess you could argue there is intention there but is that enough to tear up a contract?

At a guess there would be a fair few players who might be nervous if they dug around the drug issues in the game.

Without being caught in the act of it I don't see how they can sack him. It's all just innuendo and he said stuff. Easy for a lawyer to argue against any of it.

"I am completely innocent of all charges!"
Remember to defend the charges vigorously. (No point just defending them in a relaxed manner!)

but is that enough to tear up a contract?
At a rough guess... yes!
He'd have to be given a chance to explain to the club that he did nothing wrong, and was just talking about buying some golf balls or something... but good luck persuading them of that!

Exactly - look at when Cheese & Munster (& later Latrell), were caught on film racking up & snorting lines - unless they catch them with it on their persons, they can't charge them for possession.

Will be an interesting one after Uncle Nick came out with his zero tolerance mightier than thou attitude.

It seems even bad news works well for the chooks. How convenient, Radley probably is the weak link in their pack, what’s the chances his 600 - 650 is replaced with a 250 option, Rorters win again, thing is the 250 option was in on the gig, along with the rest of the snow drifting golfers, will they all face the uncle or will Radley be the guy, I think the later is a given, again how convenient.

foxsports:

Politis now faces a decision on Radley, who has not been accused of any wrongdoing.

Radley still has two-years remaining on his $650,000 a season contract, and if his contract is terminated, he may have a case for wrongful dismissal.

That is because he hasn’t been charged with anything, and Queensland Police have said he won’t be charged.

Leading rugby league journalist Paul Crawley addressed the issue on NRL 360 on Wednesday night.

“(There is) no proof that he (Radley) has done anything wrong. No claim that he has done any drugs or bought any drugs,” Crawley said.

Crawley seems ... exuberant in defending a roosters player. Played golf with nick lately?

The ole 'it was just powdered sugar in the photo' trick.

The roosters might not be able to punt those players but I wouldn’t want to be on the wrong side of uncle nick. He will be seriously pi**ed at looking like a nit for declaring zero policy on drugs and then having to keep those players on board
