Football Club Website

Just went on for a look myself, clearly @HappilyManly is spot on, zero reference anywhere on the website to the Sea Eagles and now only a portal to membership.

Some on here will be beside themselves (I can think of one in particular but he rarely posts now) at this, but for me its just bloody sad.

The holder of the preference share that deems the name, colours and holds the history of the club now cannot display any of this due to bloody minded politics.

A real low for me, and I imagine many others on here that have been long term members of the FC.

I'm especially glad now that I did not renew my MSE membership. I can only hope that more people join the FC. Now, more than ever. The FC will be here long after the fuceking Penn's are gone.

I dream of FC membership numbers being higher than MSE numbers. How sweet that would be.

The FC was there in 1947, and still will be in 2047 100 years later.

As to the Penns, simply fly by nighters in the scheme of things.

Those pathetic life memberships they issued last year started this, but who'd of thought it could get any lower , but it has!!

Just had a look too .... wow, very sad. What a bunch of cnuts

I wonder how the Golden Eagles Association feel about this one, or are they in the Bozo/Penn camp

We are all free to gift a membership to anybody. So long as they sign the form, you can pay the $25 @:D

I think you have to be over human and over 18 to be a member, but this needs to be verified by @Jonesyv2 / @vidmar

Sorry no pets or newborns 😀

What is really sad, at the last 2 AGM's we have not seen any representative from the Sea Eagles owners and the last meeting none of the coaching staff turned up to offer their thoughts on the clubs disastrous campaign where we finished last in the club championship.

The owners put in their investment and there is not one Manly fan who is not greatful for that. I find it so disappointing that they have an attitude that the Football club are some sort of enemy and trying to damage them.

The football club is there to protect at all costs the heritage of our great club. Owners will come and go and hopefully one day the members will own the club so that there is some accountability for how the club is going.

It is a concerning time about the future of our club. The questions about our home ground and how sustainable it is. Will we be a viable entity in a decades time when you consider that we currently have the 2nd lowest membership in the league and as I mentioned earlier we achieved the wooden spoon in the club championship.

The club have instigated a massive turn over of players over the last 2 years and we need to see some results.

I would like to see the Sea Eagles embrace the football club and work together to do the best to make our club great again. The culture is there, we have had years of division and we need to emulate what Souths have achieved. A club that was drunk on living on its past achievements who went bellyup and rose from the ashes with a business plan and now they have such a solid platform.

I want this club to thrive but there has to be a collective effort or it will be too late to save our club in the long term.

Come on all parties work together for the sake of what we are supposed to be all about, a successful club that is the envy of the league, this is our heritage and something we need to strive to reach again!!

Why don't they have the balls to come out and publicly state what their intention is with the Football Club and its role in Manly's future, instead of undermining and white anting it at every opportunity. If you want to get rid of it and the preference share then say so, don't be gutless. They have already stated they consider the FC irrelevant, why the need to keep pathetically scoring revenge points unless there is a bigger agenda at play here. I hope and pray that there are enough passionate and committed people involved in the FC to keep in going long enough for the rift to be healed.

Of course there could be a bigger story that the FC white-anted MWSE and this is just assertion of rights to make sure that it doesnt happen again.

Pure speculation but we should consider that possibility

I agree Dan, two sides to a story?

The FC committee have been complicit in all the factional wars that have taken place over the last decade or so. They have fired as many shots at the owners as the owners have taken at them including using the media etc. Unfortunately for them to the victors go the spoils.

For the record some of this recent 'stuff' is the pathetic (inc. life members) and yes I wish everyone in the club could work collaboratively together for the betterment of the team.

To achieve this the FC has to move on some of the old antagonists on from the board, review their membership structure and come up with a strategy on how they can promote and grow Rugby League in the district for the betterment of the Sea Eagles.

Neither the LC nor the FC have/had the board voting rights to do that.

The LC own a single share and signed over their MSE Board seat for the sale of their property.:tmi:
Now they are in the process of relocating to the North Manly Golf Club as a merged entity with them.

The FC maintain their 2 MSE Board seats, but their shareholdings percentage continues to dwindle with each year that the MSE Owners need to fill the operating losses.
This is shareholding percentage is irrelevant, as the 2 MSE Board seats are by the constitution of the MSE and not shareholding 😛
The committee who established the MSE ensured that the LC and FC Members would be guaranteed ownership in perpetuity and the FC preference share maintains our heritage

The end game is the ownership of the preference share.
Without it the MSE is always a 3 party ownership, making it difficult to sell.

The main issue is the personalities on both sides.

The fact that the FC Board is made up of a membership vote, should have the MSE concentrate on replacing them.

But their last attempt had an over the top Media/email blitz of vitriol, so the Members were offended/worried enough to vote back the sitting FC Board.

Neither Bob Oreilly nor Zorba are imortal.

The FC Membership is not just one person but the egos don't acknowledge this bleeding obvious fact :banghead:

Who ever wants to direct to sell the Preference Share, will require a 75% vote from the FC Members - not just the FC Board.:wait:

The continued drama is inexplicable IMO

What's wrong with the membership side of the FC that you believe needs changing?
