Finals thread

So, next weekend we get the Chan 9 dream final, last years GF replay ( just imagine the **** they will go on with pre game , thank the **** I have Foxtel, although they could be getting bad too), and what should be an absolute cracker, Faders v Choccy Soldiers.

I'll need to wait and see if Hodgeson plays for Canberra, if he does they'll probably win, if not Panthers to go one more step.

AND, hope the Donkeys get their butts whooped !!

Triple M said Hodgson is gone for the season.

So with talk of T-Rex signing a one year deal with Cronulla for next year, will he have to sit out a couple of games for that shoulder charge in yesterday's semi or is the shoulder charge now last year's fashion (you still see it but just politely ignore😉).

Penrith must surely be bursting at the seams as far as their cap is concerned. They have Reagan Campbell Gillard and Sam Mckendry both on the books for next season. Signed Tamou and Tim Browne. Grevshmuhl signed mid season, Trent Merrin extended, yeo, Fisher Harris, Matagi, Latu, Akauola, Latimore and Cartwright extending. The whole backline from yesterday is signed up or extending. Then they have two international centres in Whare and Hiku on the sidelines and another international centre as back up in Hardaker and to top it all off they have one of the best young 5/8 in Te Marie Martin locked up long term as well. How do they sign Tamou on $800 000 a season as well as Browne and at the same time extend and upgrade all of their talent and remain cap compliant.

The Wallace try was close to the best try of 2016, scintillating!!

They have a lovely mix of older heads ( Merrin / Wallace) and young enthusiasm , with two standout ( Blue's) backs.

And the 18 year old Nathan Cleary, what a revelation!!

They are just great to watch!!

I'm just happy for your son in law Mark. That woulda put a smile on his face.

FM, I haven't even heard of Reagan, Campbell or Gillard!

Yup they are great to watch, it's like watching a team of mates that just get out there and love to play footy together. They have been a breath of fresh air.

I really rate Wallace. He's been close to the best no.9 in the comp this year (and there have been some good ones this year). I love how he didn't sulk when Griffin punted him to hooker, he just rolled his sleeves up and gave it hell. Plus he is tough as nails. Who remembers the origin where he ruptured his testicle?? (I;m in pain just thinking about it). and he played on??
He is the one steering them around the park. Playing very well.

They have done very well. Building a gun side that will be competitive for many years. Griffin has also done a great job.

That is a very young side too. So much talent

well played Penrith. They have a serious team there now and of who is left I hope they win it this season. Those tries in the 2nd half were beautiful to watch and what we are missing big time.

Yeah it would be sweet if they took it out, perhaps the beginning of a modern day dynasty.

If Hodgeson is out ( which is apparently the case ), and Blake Austin either still out or played only 80% fit I reckon the Panthers will progress to the GF qualifier this weekend.

There an exciting young side and what I hope we see from Manly by at least 2018-19

Didn't he have a son, Morris minor?

Yes...and he was a singer as well!

Here's hoping penrith keep the good times rolling. Storm look....mechanical and hopefully the machine breaks down when faced with some tough footy.

The only thing that worries me about Penrith is that there are signs of them celebrating too early.

The reactions from players on Twitter accounts etc are as if they have just won the comp. That is never a good sign. You'll hear nothing from experienced teams (like Melbourne), and Canberra will be hardened up by the hard slog against the Sharks.
